Ole Henriksen 4 Products Tried & Tested

Ole Henriksen

I recently got a new job and my kind co-workers from my last job treated me to a gift card so I could get spendy on what I wanted, if you saw my January Beauty Haul, you would have already seen that I opted for a MAC Palette, and this set from Ole Henriksen, which I picked up as a steal in the sales as it was part of their Christmas Collection.

I’ve tried their Pure Truth Melting Cleanser back in August, and I did like the product a lot but found I went through the product really quickly compared to how much it cost. But I’ve had it in my mind that I wanted to try some other products from the line and I was saving that splurge until I’d made a significant dent in my skincare stash – but when I saw this on sale, with the chance to try out 4 products for only £8? I mean you can’t say no to that can you – and I’d been toying with doing a one brand skincare trial for a while and at that price, it’s a perfect opportunity!

Another reason that I was interested in this set was that it was a handy travel-sized set of everything skincare wise I will pack to take with me to New York – and it’s likely as you’re reading this that I’m parading around New York now!

Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser

I’m not normally a big fan of foaming cleansers as I can find them quite drying on the skin – but I’ve been using this now for two weeks and it’s left my skin clean without that horrible squeaky clean feeling I hate on my face. I was wondering as to whether this would be safe to use on the eyes, and whilst it said don’t get product in the eye (no kidding?) it didn’t actually say it wasn’t safe to use on the eye area – so I bit the bullet and tried it. The product didn’t get in my eyes at all – and there was no stinging, and I was pleasantly surprised that it removed any traces of eye makeup too. I find that 2 pumps of this enough and there’s still at least 3/4 of the bottle left after using it for 2 weeks morning and night. Given that this is about a fifth of the size of a full sized bottle, it offers superb value for money compared to the cleansing balm I tried – I can already see me repurchasing this when it runs out. This has a pleasent fruity smell – almost like a herbal tea.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster

I’ve never been a serum person. I’ve been sent ones for review before and I use them for 2 or 3 days before they get put into the drawer and never re-emerge again. I have at the almost grand old age of 26 started to notice some very fine lines – which I’m guessing no one else has noticed – but I’ve started seeing subtle changes underneath my eye area that wasn’t there before. I’m hoping a new job and less stress will help slow down the speed of that happening, but I’ve made it my mission to keep using a serum as I know lots of people argue it’s the most important step in your routine.

The Truth serum contains ingredients designed to do a whole host of things for your skin – including purify, brighten, even out skin tone, repair, strengthen, add moisture, calm, heal, strengthen collagen, nourish, restore. Basically it’s a skin super food! I must say that this is the first serum that I’ve enjoyed using – and again it’s something I’ve been using day and night – It has a slightly sticky residue initially so I apply the moisturiser and this before doing my makeup and do my hair whilst it has chance to sink in, but together my makeup glides on easily.

Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Moisturiser

Forewarning, I’m bad at describing moisturisers – I have oily/combo skin and have never seen a dry patch on my face in my life, and other than telling you that I don’t like something because it made my skin more greasy for example I can offer little more to the mix than that! I apply a thin layer of this in the morning over the serum, whilst it looks quite thick in the tub it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Ingredients inside the serum include ActiWhite and Licorice – designed to prevent and correct discolouration, vitamin c to stimulate collagen production, fruit acids to retexturise and soothe lines – as well as all the other qualities you’d expect from a moisturiser like add hydration and restore the skin.

Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Treatment

Another product which I’ve never been “one for” is treatments or night treatments. But I’ve been using this in the evening  – after cleansing, applying serum, then dotting a few little blobs around the face. It’s a gel texture which sinks into the skin straight away. This treatment adds vitamins and minerals back into the skin with Algae extract, diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, softens and moisturises, balances skin tone, soothes texture, helps reduce sebum production in the glands.

It’s hard to say which product is exactly reliable for having good skin – or whether it’s a team effort between them all. But my skin is soft, smooth and glowing – I haven’t had a single spot since starting with this routine and

I’m struggling to decide whether the cleanser or the serum is my favourite out of the two, but that being said I would recommend both! I’ll keep you updated in empties when I’ve fully used the products up as to what I thought of them, but I’m really enjoying my new routine, as is my skin – so I’m not planning on stopping any time soon!

If there are any products in this set that you’re interested in seeing a full review of please let me know and I’ll do a more in-depth post!

Wow! What a great bargain! I can’t believe you’ve bought 4 products for just £8 – it is definitely the most sensible buy and the brand is also a well known among the beauty product range and hence, all-in-all, pretty good.I love your blog and if you feel free, then check onto my blog https://lifestylebites3.wordpress.com
