Laura Gellar Spackle Primer Review

Laura Gellar Spackle Primer

Laura Gellar is a brand which is never tried, but pretty much only hard fantastic things about. I’d been wanting to get myself another primer option to my body shop instablur – which whilst I love it I wanted something more for everyday. When I unsubbed from Birchbox and had clocked up £20 of loyalty points, I took a look at their shop unsure of what to buy and this popped up – being one of the few products which I could actually name from Laura Gellar I decided to give it a go.

The Laura Gellar Spackle Primer isn’t particularly cheap as far as products go – I picked this up for around £18.50 however it’s quite generously sized for a primer and I can see the size of it lasting me a long time as a little goes a long way.  You literally need a pea-sized about of this milky feel gel formula, as it goes on the skin it has an almost sticky residue to it which at first I was a bit unsure about – however since I’ve been using this for about a week I’ve found its working out really well.

I’ve been going through my foundations recently and the one which currently matches me perfectly is my Lancôme tent miracle – but I’d been finding it just wasn’t lasting me all day on my skin. Instablur worked really well for me in the summer for keeping me matt, and it’s still what I use for special occasions and nights out – but during winter it’s not been keeping my makeup in place for a whole day.

Laura Gellar Spackle Primer has completely changed that and dare I say that it’s maybe the best primer that I’ve used?  If you can get over that initial sticky residue (which isn’t noticeable once your foundation is on). And my foundation is looking almost as good when I get home as it did when I went to work.

This hasn’t had a night out test yet (they are few and far between), but I’ll report back again in a few weeks and update this post after it’s been fully tested, but so far I’m super impressed with the Laura Gellar line – the only other product I know I’ve heard multiple good reviews about is their baked blusters – which at the moment I only seem to use one blusher from my whole collection so the investment would be pointless at the Monet, but if you have any other recommendations from Laura Gellar line please let me know

This sounds great! Have been looking for a good primer and have always loved Benefit’s but am just not sure about the price. Have also had a sample of SmashBox’s in the past but hated the gluiness of it! I like the sound of this one though…xxx

I’ve heard this is cult favourite but I’ve never seen it sold here. I secretly love the name “spackle” – it really describes what the primer is doing! 😛
The ONLY Laura Geller product I’ve tried is her Blush-n-Brighten (baked blush) and it is HEAVEN. Amazing pigmentation and beautiful soft glow. I highly recommend! I found it at Winners (TK Maxx).

I’ve Heard her baked products are fab! Shame they’re not easily available here – – qvc and online only! Yeah it’s a clever name – would recommend this and keen to try more from the line! Might keep my eyes peeled for the tsvs on qvc

I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about the Laura Geller gilded honey highlighters! (Or something like that.) I almost got some with my Birchbox points but I ended up going for some Stila lipsticks instead. xx
