Cohorted Beauty Box Review

Cohorted Beauty Box Review

On Boxing Day I had a tempting email from Cohorted on a one day only beauty box offer and I decided to treat myself to their ‘My Little Treat Box’ – these boxes aren’t the cheapest at £29.99 – but they do offer good value for money  – and knowing the contents of the box already meant I could see products that I wanted to try, and with a value of £108.49. So here we are with my first Cohorted Beauty Box Review.

As I said in my Fresh Starts post, I’ve realised that I don’t really like receiving samples. For the most part in Cohorted boxes they’re packed with full-size products – or very generous sample sizes. I’ve decided to subscribe only to 1 box – the My Little Box and save other cash that I would have spent on Birchbox and Love Me Beauty for boxes like these – or larger items such as palettes. So onto the contents of this box…

HD Brows Face Powder Palette

With a range of powders which look suitable for setting foundation, under the eye area or contouring I thought this looked like a good 1 product fulfills all needs palette for quick packing or space saving. I’ve only ever tried the HD Brows brow palette and when I can be bothered with powders rather than a gel – I really enjoy it, so I’m looking forward to having a more every day product to try. This has a value of £29.99 – a value I would query as it’s being sold on Amazon for about £9 by HD brows themselves… so how you can say it’s £9.99 i’m not entirely sure!

Sigma E25 Travel Blending Brush

A smaller size of one of their blogger favourite E25 brushes, you can never have a enough blending brushes, and I’ve been interested in trying some Sigma brushes as they’re much loved and talked about in the Blogosphere. I was expecting this to be really small and difficult to use, but it looks about 3/4 of the size of a normal sized brush, so a little smaller without being unusable.

Bare Minerals Marvellous Moxie Lipgloss in Hypnotic

I’m not a big lipgloss wearer in general, and I’ve not tried much from Bare Minerals either. But a few good lip glosses that I’ve tried recently from Fleur De Force and MAC have at least started to get me curious about trying a few more out – whilst I will always remain a lipstick girl at heart! I’ve only ever tried the Bare Minerals wandless mascara so it’s another brand that I’m excited to try more from. This is such an unusual shade, in daylight, this looks blue/pink/lilac in the tube and at night its a bright yellow gold with green – I’m all about the unusual and things which I don’t have and this certainly fills a gap I didn’t know I’ll have, I’m looking forward to reviewing this!

Laura Mercier Flawless Face Book

This was the product which was the focus of why I bought the box. I’ve only ever tried primers from Laura Mercier and loved them and thought the next place to start with experimenting with other products from the brand was more base and face products. It’s a palette which contains everything you need to just pick it up and go – so great for travel too. Containing a Tinted Moisturiser Cream Compact, 2 shades of Secret Camouflage Concealer, Secret Brightening Concealer and a pressed powder – with a concealer brush too.

Peter Thomas Roth Lashes To Kill Mascara

The only things I’ve ever tried from Peter Thomas Roth are Hilton Hotel shampoo and conditioner samples! I didn’t even know that PTR did makeup, however I do now the name of this mascara so I must have seen it somewhere before, a quick google of it suggests reviews of it are generally postive so I’m looking forward to giving it a go, but a mountain of half tried half used mascaras need to be used up before I start a new one!

Let me know if you’ve tried out any of these products before, or if there’s anything here you’d like to see reviewed first.

February’s Cohorted box is available to pre-order now and it’s so tempting, having revealed their teaser product as a Chanel Eyeshadow, which has beautiful swatches online! But I’m sticking to my £25 a month spending plan and being good – hopefully I don’t come to regret that!

Wow that Laura Mercier item alone makes this box worth it! What a great way to try a range of her products – it’s a brand that I’ve been wanting to venture more into. I’ve heard good things about that Bare Minerals gloss in Hypnotic – you can top any lipstick to transform it, very pretty effect. Again, I’m always amazed at the quality of products contained in Cohorted Boxes and this doesn’t disappoint!
