Beauty #TBT – Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

A product which always gets rediscovered in my collection during this time of year is the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm. It’s a product which I’ve spoken about a couple of times fleetingly – you will have seen it in my Bedside Beauty posts, but it’s never had a post fully dedicated to it’s own majestic abilities, and I thought it was about time I rectified it in this week’s Beauty #TBT post.

Reve De Miel from Nuxe is a product which I use throughout the year – but it’s much more sparingly needed in summer time during winter it gets used daily and during particularly bad cracked or dry lips spells gets put into my handbag to be on me at all times too. Having just had one of those weeks it made me think ‘by jove this stuff is good’ – all jolly and English – and knew it was something that needed reviewing for anyone else currently going through the struggle!

Reve de Miel is much thicker than most lip balms – it’s very moisturising and nourishing and helps, it’s by far not a cheap product – but you really don’t need a lot, this is my second pot ever and this one as you can see still has plenty of product inside and it’s been used loyally for about 18 months. At almost the £10 mark – this comes in a deluxe frosted heavy glass jar, you do feel like you’re getting what you pay for.

This has a slight honey scent to it which isn’t overpowering or fake smelling, it’s just a nice touch which adds to the deluxe feeling. If lips are just on the cusp of becoming sore and chapped overnight it can transform to supple and smooth over again. If lips are already beyond that point I wouldn’t say it’s a complete miracle cure in one go – but in a day or 2 it will repair and help starting to protect against unsightly effects again.

It has a slight stickiness to it because it’s so thick – I’d compare this as being the body butter version of lip care – more nourishing and more effective. For that reason I don’t think it’s a product if you like to apply a balm under or over your lipstick to which it’s suited. But in terms of it being a lip care product – I really don’t think it can be beaten.

If you suffer with dry lips frequently and you haven’t tried this – do. I also think this would be a nice stocking filler gift for maybe people who aren’t super into makeup or beauty – but still like to take care of themselves and feel pampered.

I’ve not tried much from Nuxe – but I know I have a few products on their way which I’ve picked in this month’s Love Me Beauty box! I’m excited as if they’re anything like the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm – I’ll be nothing but pleased.

What are your favourite lip care products? Have you tried this? Let me know in the comments!

This must be a popular brand in Europe. I just read a post about their perfume too! I don’t know if we have this brand here in the states but this balm sounds divine! 🙂 xo

Ooh didn’t know they did a perfume brand – it’s not really available in shops here, but you can get it online just about everywhere! I’m glad I have some more bits coming to try some more from them! This is my lip saviour so if everything is as good as this I’ll be very pleased!

I bought this because of the cult beauty product status and I really disliked it. SO waxy and it just sat on my lips. I really tried to make it work (I wanted it as a nice treatment) but I woke up every morning with a waxy film over my lips and my lips weren’t any softer or more hydrated. Nowadays I swear by the C.O. Bigelow Supreme 2X balm, I did a review of it (and I also show the graveyard of lip products I’ve tried and didn’t work for me!):

I’ve turned a bunch of my friends onto it and they love it too.

Never heard of that brand, I’ll hve to look if we get it here! I’ve never had a waxy film at all – How odd!
