Birchbox X Wahanda – December 2015 Unboxing

December 2015’s Birchbox took me by surprise, 1 because I thought I cancelled it and 2 I was really confused when I saw a jiffy bag laying on my doorstep – that (oh shit what have I ordered now) feeling rose over me and I did not think it would be a beauty box – because there was a lack of box!

This month’s Birchbox saw a collaboration with Wahanda, the online booking website for beauty treatments, something which I’ve not used before – and I’ll be spying what I can book with my £10 off voucher that’s included as part of this collab!

This month saw the box transform itself into a BEAUTIFUL clutch bag, perfect for the upcoming party season, the soft envelope clutch bag features a lovely buttery black leather, sparkling gold glitter and a deep forest green velvet. I don’t have anything like this – but the quality of this is so good – it’s not something that will get thrown to the back of the cupboard and forgotten – it may even get used for my Work Christmas Party on Thursday!

Inside there is many a beauty treat this month – this is easily the best Birchbox which I have received and is packed full of appropriate festive beauty treats to get your Christmas cheer flowing.

The first thing that caught my eye was a Benefit cracker – with 2 sides, 1 for the night out, one for the day after and I was really curious as I pulled them apart to see what was inside… A sample sized Benefit They’re Real Eyeliner (something I’ve had before but didn’t get on particularly well with) but I’m happy to give it another go – and secondly a Benefit Puff Off sample, designed for use under the eyes to help soothe puffy and irritated eyes perfect for a hangover – I’ll no doubt be giving this a go on Friday before going into work!

The next thing that caught my eye was a mini of Ciate’s Antique Brooch – a gorgeous shimmering gold and silver microglitter with rose gold chunky hexagonal glitter running through. I have a hit/miss relationship with Ciate – but this colour is really pretty!

I next pulled out the Model Co Lipstick in Stiletto – the only full sized product in this month’s bag. Of course if you’re like me when you think of Christmas – you think of a red lip and that’s exactly what’s in this months bag! Swatching on my hands this actually seems like a very wearable cherry red shade (but currently suffering with December lighting issues – so in daylight that may change!)

The Skin & Co Sicilian Body Gel – had me a little confused with the name, I thought this was a moisturiser in a gel like form, but no it’s a shower gel. Containing Sicilian Orange and Olive extracts this smells fresh without being very zingy – toned down by the olive. With claims of being conditioning and moisturising it’s a great shower gel for getting your winter skincare routine in order.

Another product for keeping skin soft and supple is the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre – a brand which I’ve not heard of before. Formulated to suit all skin types this is pinned as a nourishing moisturiser for your face.

Last but not least is a perfume sample, from another brand which I probably would never have discovered if it wasn’t for this box. From Catherine Malandrino this scent is called Style In Paris – the packaging has a lot to be desired but this smells so good! It’s rich and fruity but somewhere nestled in it is also a sweet note like almond. I’d just put a bit on my hand to give it a whiff and my boyfriend is sat the other side of the room and asked what it was as it smelt nice (10 bonus points for the fragrance!)

That clutch looks amazing. Birchbox should do something like that more often 🙂 Love the selection of goodies this time round 🙂

They really should, if they sent make up bags, pouches or something like a jewellery roll frequently I would get so excited!

I agree, this Birchbox is impressive! All the makeup items are usable! The Ciate Antique Brooch polish looks like fun.

I think I’m wearing a white dress to my work Christmas party this week – and this might be a perfect polish to accompany it!

I think they’re £10 plus delivery, the red is pretty – I haven’t tried it yet either, maybe this weekend! Xx
