My Current Makeup Routine

It’s not very often that I feel like I’m in quite a routine with my makeup – other than the basics I tend to hop a lot between different products, but at the moment I’ve found that for the most part my makeup has stayed the same day in day out for the past 3 weeks or so, and I’ve been really loving my makeup daily!

BASE

Underneath everything I’ve been wearing this peach tint from my little beauty which helps even out skintone, especially good now in winter with the cold biting my cheeks and creating a rosey glow – this helps just keep everything subdued. My Instablur has been added back to my normal routine again now, I tend to opt for my ARK primer if I’m not bothered about my makeup lasting all day – but this is the best at keeping everything in place until I’m ready to remove it, as well as keeping skin looking matte for as long as possible. The Make Up For Ever HD foundation is a welcome readdition to my routine, it had become a bit too dark for me, but since coming back from holiday and my tan ‘settling’ on a shade it matches me perfectly again this is sadly almost at it’s end – i’ll be surprised if it’s not in my empties in a few days! Lastly is this Korres Wild Rose Powder, this is easily not my favourite powder, I tend to opt for translucent powders and this is quite dark – I’m using this up while I have the opportunity to and it matches my skin, I’ve significantly hit pan so hopefully within a week or two it will be gone.

CHEEKS

Ahh the beautiful limited edition Estee Lauder blush in Peach Nuance, I really should put this away for the winter and use blushes which I only pull out at this time of year, but I can’t put this down. It’s my absolute favourite, despite being a bit more difficult to use now the gradient is kind of splitting into two! The next are two relative newbies from the Balm, Bahama Mama which is a matt bronzer and the well loved Mary Lou Manizer highlighter – respectively each are my all time favourite highlighter and bronzers respectively. I’m planning on reviewing both of these separately within the next few weeks so keep your eye out for that if you’re interested in them.

EYES

All of these products are Maybelline, so hats of for them! If you saw my Maybelline Makeup Bag Makeover you would have seen me talk about 3 of these before,\. Maybelline’s gel eyeliner is hands down the best, pigmented, long wearing and easy to apply – this glides on with no effort at all and stays in place all day with out so much as a tiny smudge. It’s testament to see just how much that I’ve been loving the Eraser eye concealer – look how much I’ve used in the month, this is perfect for concealing and brightening under the eyes, it seems to be a marmite product – I don’t love the applicator, but given I’m going through this quite rapidly – it won’t hopefully get too nasty before I will have finished it. The Nudes pallete and Lash Sensational are products which are getting their own reviews, neither of which I am 100% sold on – so are more in my routine because I’m still making up my mind. Stay tuned for these hopefully this week! The palette is letting me create different looks because it has such a diverse range of colours, one day I go with basically nothing, other days I can go for a day time smoky look.

Two products which should have been included are TheBalm’s put a lid on it eyeshadow primer and Maybelline Brow Satin, who knows why I forgot to include these but both are important in my routine!

LIPS

Both of these products have been reviewed relatively recently, I’ve been wearing these a lot as they’ve been the two which have been in my handbag. I adore the Written in the Stars Lipgloss from Fleur De Force‘s line – and need all the other colours immediately. 100% Pure in Velveteen I reviewed at the start of the week and as it’s been the only lipstick in my purse it’s been getting the most wear, but if you saw that post you’ll know I had some reservations about the brand, whilst I do like it. I wear either of these by themselves, or if I’m feeling particularly snazzy I’ll apply the lipstick and then finish with the lipgloss.

So glad to see that theBalm items are making their way into your makeup routine! 🙂
I do find that I seem to go through the Maybelline Eraser concealer really quickly at first, and I feel like I will run out but then about 3/4 through, it take a LONG time finish the rest – so odd!
