I was hoping to come to you with a post solely dedicated to Duty Free shopping from the airport, I had a big list of things to check out but unfortunately when we arrived at the airport we were greeted by a massive queue of people also trying to drop off their bags, by the time we had got past security we had about 20 minutes before we had to get on the plane and still needed to get something to eat! Meaning sadly shopping time was sadly restricted to about 10 minutes only!
Duty Free
MAC Vamplify Lipglosses in Tuned in (Nude) and Peer Pressure (Berry)
If you saw my Duty Free lust list you’ll know that I was crossing my fingers that these might be at the airport as they were all sold out online. Not one but both the shades I had been eyeing were available. I;m not a massive lipgloss wearer but were intrigued by these as MAC had pinned them as their best formulation yet. You’ll have to wait for the full review hopefully next week, but as a sneak peek if you can get your hands on them take a look, I like them a lot so far!
LiuJo Sunglasses
I didn’t intend on sunglasses shopping but wandered over to discover my Boyfriend waiting for me there whilst I had been at the MAC counter. As I was walking into the area I was stopped in my tracks by these. I’ve never Heard of Liu Jo before and would never have thought that I would be buying purple sunglasses but everything about them really suit me! Plus they come with a proper case (which is gorgeous to look at!) which is handy as all my others get scratches in the flimsy fabric cases most others seem to come with!
OPI Hawaii Mini Set
I had no intention on buying this (and nor did I really want to as I hate these OPI mini bottles!) but as I got on the plane, sat down on my seat I watched my home gel DIYs ceremoniously start jumping and pinging off my nails! Having past all duty free and knowing I probably wouldn’t be able to get any nail polish to repaint whilst there I begrudgingly bought the only nail polish that was on the on-board duty free. The colours looked nothing like they did in the brochure and I wouldn’t have bought these overpriced beauties had I of not been desperate!
FeelUnique.com
theBalm INSTAIN Blush in Houndstooth
I headed to feel unique to check out a a blush thanks to Stash Matters who recommended them after I’d asked for people’s favourite products from theBalm – I thought this shade would be nice going into Autumn from her post, although may have to wait until my holiday has died down a little as I’m not sure this mauvey shade will look completely flattering at the moment over tanned skin (my work friends have started calling me Beyonce, that’s how much my skin tone has changed!). With 15% off everything to celebrate their 10th Birthday I took opportunity to get it whilst it was a little cheaper, and then post holiday blues took over and 1 blush turned into 8 items!
theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter
I had this on my wishlist of theBalm products to get as I know it’s much coveted and loved by everyone who tries it. I was planning on holding off until I had finished off the one from the Sleek Contour Duo I’ve been trying to use up but impulse and 15% off took the better of me and I decided to get one aswell.
theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer
The last item from theBalm trio was complete impulse, this wasn’t on my wishlist at all, but I had remembered hearing good things about it and decided I may aswell get “1 of everything” for the cheeks as that makes sense right? Currently the only matt powder bronzer I have is in the sleek contour kit and it’s always been a little on the light side colour wise for me – and now I’m tanned it’s even more so, so getting this isn’t the worst idea that I’ve had.
Juicy Couture I AM JUICY COUTURE Rollerball
Literally do not know what made me get this – I was checking out the Paco Rabanne Olympea which I had fallen in love with whilst on holiday and was deciding whether to buy it or use my boots points towards it and stumbled across this new fragrance from Juicy Couture. This is a gamble as I haven’t so much as given this a whiff yet! I do normally like JC fragrances and have other than a few individual samples used everything in my collection that’s handbag friendly! This was surprisingly affordable at £8.99 + 15% off made it a no brainer in my mind! Even without the discount, this is 10ml and 3 of these is cheaper than buying the small 30ml bottle so I’m not sure if there was a pricing error or what. Luckily I do like this too so expect a full review soon!
Fleur De Force Lipgloss in Written in the Stars
Fleur is my favourite Youtuber by far so I couldn’t resist picking something up from her new cosmetics line. Like I said with the MAC purchases I’m not normally big on lipgloss but needed more eyeshadow (the only other makeup in her line) like a hole in the head! She mentioned that she was wearing this particular colour in a vlog and I liked the look of it and actually I don’t have anything that’s really that similar! It looked more peachy online and is actually pretty close to the vamplify nude colour I got which whilst not ideal will make a good comparison – first impressions is that the formulas/pigmentation etc are very similar!
Eylure Fleur De Force Couture Fleur Individual Lashes
I’ve been trying to get my hands on these for the past 6 weeks since they launched but every Boots that I’ve been to haven’t had them in stock or haven’t started stocking Fleur’s Lash line yet. I not a big false lash wearer but have never tried individual lashes before, the reason that I was drawn to these in particular (other than it being by FDF) is that the glue means that they last 2-3 days!
Zoella Beauty Wonder Hand Cream
I have 3 hand creams laying about the house but now it’s coming into winter I know I’ll probably be applying them more regularly than I do normally! All of the ones I have currently are small and handbag friendly where as this is quite large so I’ll keep this by my bedside instead. I’ve eyed the Zoella line quite a bit but haven’t tried anything yet – I’ll let you know how this is!
Tanya Burr Nail Polish in Duvet Day
I tried the original Tanya Burr polishes before they were reformulated and repackaged and I was less than impressed. Part of me was tempted to buy the same two colours again Midnight Sparkles and Bright and Early to see how they compared but resisted just in case they were just as bad because I think I would have been more annoyed at myself! At the time of ordering I was thinking I hadn’t really heard much about these, but now I’m kicking myself after remembering that LucieLeanne reviewed this shade and said the formulation wasn’t brilliant. Damn impulse buying!
That’s it! Have you tried anything that I’ve bought? If you have any burning requests for reviews on anything particular above please let me know and I’ll try those out first!

Great haul but sorry to hear about all the airport drama. Always a little stressful.
And what happened with the gel polish? That sounds awful.
xx Anne
It was just a home DIY job with the white one I picked up at the start of the month, did it the night before exactly the same method that I always use and for some reason it just didn’t last – must have been something to do with the white polish as compared to that Sally Hansen charcoal sparkly beauty which I used the same method for and lasted over 2 weeks! Bad luck I guess – but at least I managed to ping them all off rather than having a half and half scenario! x
Right, very strange indeed. At least you could remove all of them, otherwise it would have been a nightmare. xx
Yep, that’s worse than having nothing at all in my book!
oh yes! Flaky nail polish is just awful on holiday.
Awesome haul! I can live vicariously through you! 😀 I hope you like the InStain blush, the shade is perfect for Autumn!
Oh I did not know that Fleur De Force came out with a makeup line. I hope it’s good (I would have gone with the eye shadow myself… even though I need another eye shadow like a hole in the head as well 😛 )
I like the bottle design of the new Tanya Burr polishes, very Butter London but I guess it’s what inside that counts…
I hear you about the OPI mini bottles – I really dislike them. The Essie minis are better.
I hate the fiddly little brushes with opi! I used all the balm products for the first time and had compliments! I’ll probably end up getting one of the fdf palletes at some point, I’ll test out the quality of the gloss first and probably buy the whole range shortly after! X
The Zoella hand cream and Tanya Burr polish look lovely, can’t wait to hear your future thoughts x
I own Mary Lou Manizer and I absolutely love it! Before I got it Champagne Pop was my go-to highlighter but this one quickly became a fave (I also caved and got the Cindy Lou Manizer a few weeks ago too). xx
I’ve already been eyeing up the other Lou manizers! Used it yesterday for the first time and it’s gorgeous, her lots of compliments saying how glowy my skin looked! The balm obsession is brewing inside me I can tell! X
