My Little Fashion Box – September 2015 – Unboxing & Review

It only feels like 5 minutes ago since I was opening August’s my Little Box! But here I am starting my second year of subscribing to the french subscription service. This month we’re celebrating the month that marks Fashion Week with My Little Fashion Box.

The box is designed as beautiful as always with a fabulous front row of fashionistas, opening up to contain a print, whilst I usually like the designs on the print, I often find I’m not too bothered about the quotes on them. I do love this one though – this will be going up by my dressing table with a few other of the prints from past boxes.

This months box contained a scarf from brand American Vintage, in classic black and white it felt quite reminiscent of the DVF box from October last year. In a lightweight and incredibly soft fabric, it’s perfect for this time of year when you want to start layering up without it becoming overly warm. As a tall person I do wish it was a little bit bigger as I struggle to knot it in the ‘Boy Scout Look’ or  twist it around like the ‘Classy Look’ illustrated on the back of the packaging. I think I’ll take this on holiday next week for if it gets too cool on the plane – but I won’t want something heavy when I get to hopefully hot and sunny Egypt!

There’s also a set of nail decals in pastel pinks, blues and white. These feel quite summery, although I do really like the design. Again these are something which might get used for my holiday too! I was planning on putting a plain white gel on my nails, but I might add decals in the corner of each nail too! The great thing about these decals is that they don’t need soaking in water!

The box also treats us to a fairly generous sized mini bottle of Cointreau. I don’t think I’ve ever tried Cointreau, but I do like Alcohol so I’m willing to give it a try… of course! There’s also a little booklet of cocktail recipes to try with the orange flavoured liqueur, all of them sound equally tasty – I can imagine me getting full sized bottle of this already!

At the bottom of the box we’re greeted with the bag of beauty goodies which states ‘Trust Me, You Look Lovely’ (why thank you!).

Inside contains a full sized Hydrating BB Cream from La Roche Posay, I don’t know if everyone received the same shade but mine was in ‘Light’ a shade which I probably won’t be until approximately March (especially after a warm hol topping up the tan before winter). A quick swatch on my hand is very moisturising but looks as if it will be quite difficult to apply as it looked a little streaky – whether it would apply better with fingers or not I don’t know, still look forward to trying this when I eventually can!

Secondly a miniature sized Spray a Porter (couture spray) from Kerastase, a flexible hold hairspray which smells really nice., claiming to bring texture, volume and help smooth fly aways. It also says it will help create beachy waves without the sticky side effects of a salt spray (hurrah!). Another product that’s arrived just in time for holiday, it’s going straight in my suitcase to save taking a full sized product.

Last but certainly not least is the My Little Beauty Red Dingue Lip Colour, I had my fingers crossed that this was a going to be a matte liquid lipstick (current lip product of choice) rather than a gloss and it was. I’ve fallen in love with this kind of formulation recently for budge-proof lips that last all day, I’ve also been wanting to get my hands on a red – this has a slight raspberry hue to it, but falls into being a pretty classic red category. This locks into place (I had to scrub my hand after the swatches below), and proved to last well through eating too with only a slight touch up needed after, it does feel a little drying compared to other favourites from OFRA – but I can get over that for a red that I don’t have to worry about smudging or budging.

This is one of my favourite boxes ever I think, there’s not one product in the box that I’m not looking forward to trying. I wish the BB cream was a little darker, but eventually I should be able to try, if not I’m sure my sister will gladly accept!

Last month I did a roundup called ‘1 Year of My Little Box which is now a handy place to find every My Little Box review from the past year. If you want to see what past boxes have contained, and whether I’ve loved what was inside check out the post here.

This looks like such a fun box. Whenever you review these, I get a little jealous. This just looks so good (and isn’t available here yet).

I think it’s only available in France UK and strangely Japan!? Hopefully they will expand soon so everyone can get their hands on them! Xx

Weird right! I never understand why they can’t simply ship them internationally. xxx

The box looks really posh! I love both the packaging and the content. 🙂
Love that mini-draw string bag and the ribbon too. 🙂 ✽‿✽ ❤︎ laineyloveslife
