Love Me Beauty – September 2015 Unboxing

Are we really half way through September already? Here we are again with the Love Me Beauty box – or should I now say bag? This month we see a refreshed Love Me Beauty subscription service, the website has had a facelift, the credit system has been changed and the box has had a redesign, so much of a redesign it’s not a box any more….

Personally I think I prefer the old style boxes over the new bags, I miss the shimmering pewter and rose gold lettering, these black and white numbers must be cheaper to produce – but I do feel like I’m being cheated out of something that I was previously paying for – it doesn’t feel so much like a monthly treat to yourself than an online order – I’m also not sure how they’ll manage when there’s lots of skincare/haircare with this method. Plus – Boxes I have use for, the bags I do not!

I’m struggling to get the point around the new credits system where products were 1 or 2 credits before they’re now 10 or 20 with a total of 60 credits to spend each month where there was 6. They just seem to have had an extra zero, and I find the need to change confusing. But maybe we’ll see items of smaller/more credits and adding that ‘0’ will make it easier to split your points. I had a few extra credits due to people using my referral code, so I had a few more to spend, so bare that in mind.

Lottie Nail Polishes (20 Credits Each) – £5.99 Each

Shades are Forever Young (Pink), Prom Night (Raspberry) and Icon-o-Holic (Red – Missing 🙁 )

You’ll know if you’ve been reading a while that I’ve loved the Lottie polishes which I’ve tried. They’re amongst the best of the best which I’ve tried from the drugstore and whilst I’ve wanted to go wild and purchase the whole line – I’ve held back because I have lots of polishes still to review. Initially I was going to only get 2 of these, but I decided I knew I was probably going to love these so decided to get 3 of 4 (the 4th I already owned). Something interesting that I’ve just learnt is that this brand is the ‘younger sister’ to Ciate, interesting given how much I dislike the more expensive Ciate to how much I love Lottie!

I’ve emailed LMB about Icon-o-holic being missing, it is a little bit annoying though the subscription takes 7/8 days to arrive after placing the order, despite being dispatched usually the same or next day – so I can imagine this not turning up for another week!

ModelCo More Brows in Medium/Dark Brown (20 Credits) – £13

I had one of these in a past beauty box and gave it away to my sister before I even tried it. I was never a brows person but over the past few months I have been making an effort with doing them so I decided to snap one of these up. At the moment I only have a HD Brows palette which I love, but is more time consuming on a rushed work morning, and I did have a pencil which seems to have wandered off over the past week or so. I’m hoping this is going to be dark enough for me, but if not my sister might be getting a back up!

Talika BioEnzyme After Sun Mask – (Not sure if 10 Credits) – £9

I only got this because it had after sun in the name and with holiday in a few weeks time I decided it would be a good thing to take with me. Claiming to be soothing and being good at rapid repair I thought this might be good at the end of a long day which I’ve spent a little too long in the sun or got a bit red by the end of the week. It’s a sheet mask too, and nice and compact to take with me.

This was the first month which I feel a little less enthused about, compared to last month where it was probably my favourite. I’m happy with all of my picks – but had there not have been Lottie there I think I would have struggled to spend my credits this month. That being said, if you’re not a nail junkie like I am, and have probably around 200 polishes you’ll probably be less bothered about adding a couple of polishes to your collection. When I already have 30 variations of the same shade of pink it does make me a little less excited, whilst I do know I’ll like them.

Other choices included Ciate polishes (minis), Bellapierre Eyeshadows, Ark Skincare (I got a lot of last month), Monu, Nude + Lord & Berry Lipsticks (I’ve got so many untried lipsticks I decided to skip!). I think the only new comers to the box were the Ciate and Lottie nail polishes which is why it felt a little repetitive when I was trying to make my choices.

If you want to check out my past reviews click here. If you would like to subscribe please use my referral code of ‘4AI3UB‘ at the checkout, it will give you extra credits in your first box (although I don’t know how many now due to the credit system change – please let me know if you use it!)

What do you think of this months box?

The polish looks lovely, but I have to agree the bag doesn’t look as spectacular as a nice box (which I also reuse, so convenient).

No, I’d rather they just didn’t bother and it stayed in the jiffy bag it was sent in – I threw it straight in the bin as I received it so just felt like a waste. Boxes I use all over the house for wrapping presents in etc! xx

I like the nail shades you picked.. so sad the other one’s missing you have to wait for another week to have it.. The brow gel is something that is so easy to use! You’ll love it! 🙂 ✽‿✽ ❤︎ laineyloveslife
