TOAD Diaries Review + Giveaway! (Now Closed)

Recently I was offered to try a diary from TOAD diaries and of course I jumped at the chance to give it ago. I’ve had a notebook for my blog which I write out a diary in to each month to keep a track of my ideas and when I’ve posted and scheduled things to (attempt) to make sure I’m not posting similar things one after another, and there’s a bit of a break.        

Writing out your own diary is of course a little messy and doesn’t match well for the pixel perfect designer in me, but does offer customisation as to how I want to lay it out. Well no need to do this any more. Welcome TOAD diaries, a customisable diary that will mean I don’t need to manually create a diary how I want it, for myself any more.

You can begin your diary from any time, so if you want to start a fresh with a new diary at any point in the year, that’s not a problem, you can choose what month you want to start your diary from and how long you want it to last for. I chose to start mine from January as I have dates starting to come in for next year that I need to write down already. There’s options to select between 4 and 36 months so you can be as organised as you like. I decided to go for a 2 year diary as I have a couple of things I want to start planning in personally between now and then, so I can get my pencil out and start putting things in now.

The cover is protected by a frosted clear panel it’s enough to make it hard wearing enough to carry around in your bag, whilst not thick or heavy to make it a burden. If you used to love the academic diaries you used to get in school. you’ll probably like this too.

Now onto one of the most major decisions, what cover are you going to choose? There’s lots of beautiful patterns, colours and designs to choose from, and you can customise the front and back covers with your own text too, in retrospect I wish I had added the years ’16-17′ to mine, but I was having a hard time deciding which of the covers I wanted, and the text was sort of an after thought!

Now probably the actual most important decision, how you want to lay out your pages. There’s lots of options to choose from. I decided to keep the diary section to 7 days on a page, with a grid on the opposite side. Sometimes I like to sketch out ideas for posts, or draw something up, but it will also come in handy as just having a note space too. There’s options between having it lined on one side instead of gridding, having it as appointment time slots through the day. or a full page per day.

At the back there’s a handy section of 5 double sided pages which are lined for notes. A pocket to add in any bits of paper you need to carry around and a business card slot too.

Overall I love this diary and I’m enjoying putting in dates for next year already such as wedding and anniversaries which aren’t going to move. I’ve also started thinking about posts for the new year, and I’ll start making notes and ideas on these too so I don’t forget when it comes to January.
