Collective Haul – Boots, H&M, Dorothy Perkins and Kurt Geiger

Collective Haul – Boots, H&M, Dorothy Perkins and Kurt Geiger

Here I am with another haul! This is my first of the month – I think this goes to show that I am just not meant to do spending bans!  I’ve spent less this month than I have been doing on the previous 2 months of spending bans, and my empties are shaping up to be very healthy too having been continuing efforts of using up products from my stash.

You’ll notice there’s a lot of sandals in this haul, it has been my mission this summer to replace all my tired and battered sandals and I have not been able to find anything anywhere (not for lack of trying, Ben will back me up on this as he’s been dragged into every shoe shop on Oxford street unsuccessfully), it just so happens that now that they all come at once!

Kurt Geiger/Miss KG Sandals

From the Kurt Geiger ‘young’ teen brand is this pair of sandals (which I actually found online in the NEXT sale) these were reduced from about £70 to I think £25 – they’re no longer online and I can’t remember what the style is called but these were a bargain. I’ve been wearing these a lot for the past 3 weeks or so, and they’ve already lost a few gems so I’ve now managed to find some others so I can keep these more for ‘special’ occasions.

Dorothy Perkins Sandals

Despite looking in Dorothy perkins constantly over the summer for sandals, it’s only now their sale has been on that I’ve been able to find any! Sadly I wasn’t able to find anything in black although I know I will get a lot of wear out of these 3 pairs. I’ve been after some lace up gladiators for years, these are real leather and should hopefully last really well – they’ve had their first wear on Wednesday and they were comfortable all day long, despite being so strappy. I think these were the most expensive of the 3 at around £23. The second remind me of a brown version of the Kurt geiger ones, these are are a little tight but I’m hoping they will loosen up as I wear them (as the KG ones did) too as I love the bright gems contrasting on the tan leather – I think these were reduced to around £12. Lastly this pair was a steal at £9, with Nude and metallic straps I think these will look amazing with a tan. I think I’m going to have Sophie’s choice deciding which pairs to take on holiday with me!

H&M

h-and-m-tshirt-basics

You know when all your basics need replacing at once? That’s what I need to do and I’ve been putting off for months, I could have bought almost every colour of tshirt in H&M but just kept to the khaki and black for the time being. The Khaki has a round neck and boob pocket (official term) and the black has a round neck (no boob pocket) – both were £7.99.

Next i picked up this pretty cardigan/cape, this was impossible to photograph whilst it looks black and strange brown where in some lights it looks more mustard – the black is somewhere between a black and a navy. I don’t have anything like this really and I think this will be nice for work and also will look nice at the weekend paired with jeans. I resisted also buying the navy and white version – but I can see me going back to get that too! I’m aiming to do some OOTD (boyfriend needs some photography lessons first) as sadly this isn’t online to show what it looks like, i’ll try to remember to include this!

h-and-m-socks

Last but certainly not least, you might thing this is boring, but H&M socks have revolutionised my life. I have the exact same set in pastel coloured trims and I love them, the only reason I’m getting more is to throw away all other socks in my life and just have this type from H&M. They’re soft and last for ages. £5.99 for a pack – try them, seriously

Boots

Did I need the new Real Techniques brush cleanser? No probably not – I have however used up my spot brush cleanser, and now don’t have a brush cleaner upstairs (is that lazy… yes.) I do however want to see how this compares with my Dr. Bronners Magic Soap which I’ve used to deep cleanse my brushes for years as it’s much more expensive at £7.50.

I have had a bit of a breakout emerge on my chin and wanted something to leave on overnight and help dry it up. I was on the hunt for a boots own brand which used to be in a silver and purple packet but they either don’t sell it in the boots I went to, or they’ve stopped using it. So went for a basic tea tree stick guaranteed to do the job The tea tree range was on buy one get one free so I also picked up the night treatment gel.

The main reason I went into boots was to get this nail polish “Chillantro” is limited edition and I spied it when it first came out in June, as I was on a no buy I resisted purchasing it, but I’ve seen it on many a blog since and I absolutely love it. I have nothing like it (yep nothing) as it’s an unusual very light pastel green (lighter than it looks in the picture). I had to pick this up whilst I can still get it and I’m already dreaming of some nail art ideas I can do with this.

Lastly as I was perusing the nail polish I spotted this odd product from Essie ‘Leave No Trace’. I’ve never seen nor heard anyone talk about this before but it claims to be a glitter nail polish remover.Unscrewing the lid, this smells very much like a nail polish, but looks very much like a body scrub, super interesting, never seen anything else similar. Await a review on this and see if it’s a gimmick worth more hype.

What do you think of my picks? Have you tried any of the beauty products?

Fun haul! Can never have enough sandals. I *believe* the Essie is Chillato (at least that’s what mine says), but I wanted to say that I LOVE your “Chillantro” so much better, ’cause you squeezed in cilantro! <3 It's a fantastic nail color, too!

It’s perfect! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a nail color named for cilantro 😀

LOVE all of the sandals you bought from Dorothy Perkins esp that one on the far right! So fantastic to get them on sale too. Would be interested seeing how that Essie glitter polish remover works for you! I’ve seen a base that’s supposed to make your polish peel off when you’re ready to remove it – I’ve been toying with getting something like that when I wear glitters. One I’ve seen:

I’ve always been curious about the peel off bases but always been worried that it will just peel off the polish more readily!
