Recently Wowcher had a deal for a £20 voucher for feel unique for only £10 – I had been eyeing up the Emma Hardie try me kits as they’re really good value (and incidentally out of stock), as I want to try their Moringa cleansing balm ( but don’t want to spend £40 on a full size for something I might regret), After almost 2 weeks of waiting impatience kicked in after trawling the site for something else similar. So Hello to the Ole Henriksen pure truth melting cleanser.
This was a total whim when it came up as a recommended item, I remember Fleur de Force talking about this as being a favourite of hers, and that was enough to convince me to try.
Pure Truth is a 3 in 1 product formulated to brighten, repair and nourish the skin. Containing Vitamin C which Brightens and supports natural collagen; Rose Hip Oil which is a Natural source of omega 3, 6, and 9 added to regenerate, repair and nourish and Virgin Cherry Oil which is rich in vitamins and antioxidants; reduces redness and rehydrates the skin.
Packaging is simple but effective. The tub feels sturdy enough for travel without being extra bulky and heavy and it handily comes with a middle lid (is there a real word for this) to stop the product spilling everywhere.
This is a thick gel texture which I massage around the face and eye area before adding water, the formulation then completely changes and emulsifies into a milk. This does a great job of breaking down eye makeup (including stubborn waterproof mascaras) and leaves my face feeling throughly clean and nourished. My cleanser test of true cleanliness is following up with a toner and seeing how much invisible makeup is left behind and it’s never anything with this.
I’ve flitted in and out of using this over the past few weeks (as I collected up all my scattered cleansers from across the house and was using something different each day) but since using this solidly for a week I have noticed a change in my skin. I have a new Magnitone which I’m currently trying – and I must say not liking at all at the moment, and the formulation doesn’t work so well with that. I much prefer using my fingers to massage into the skin and then using a wet muslin cloth to wash off and break down.
Not quite believing the descriptions that it would look, smell and feel like marmalade – but nope it’s all of those things and smells good enough to eat without being overpowering.
My only comment would be that I feel like I’m going to run out of this quite quickly, I’m trying to use less and less each time to work out what’s the perfect amount, but whilst I don’t feel like I’m using it a lot (and have only used it 10 times so far) for a cleanser which costs £23 I think I would think twice before repurchasing again at this moment in time unless I could find it discounted again!

I’ve never even heard of this but I do love oil / balm cleansing products! Ole Henriksen is a great brand – I’ll have to check this one out! (and try not to eat it)
