When I placed my Freedom order at the start of June a lot of those products got put away and forgotten due to trying to finish off other bits first, but this one excited me as soon as I opened it.
Probably my all time favourite lipstick is MAC Viva Glam Cyndi a Limited edition lipstick from way back in 2010 is a gorgeous easy wearing coral red with underlying hints with pink. If you’re new or scared of reds this is a great alternative. The problem is that it was only available in 2010. Over the past year I’ve been using my battered tube less and less, the lipstick is snapped and it’s nearly empty. So when I twisted this up after I received my order I was a little excited as I thought I had found a dupe. Despite me loving and wearing Freedom’s Born With It, it’s only now 2 months on that I have got around to comparing them side by side.
Whilst not identical, I’m really happy to have stumbled on this by chance (as I picke d 3 lip products at utter random as the line was brand new and there was no swatches anywhere!). From the watches below Cyndi is a little redder whilst Born With It is a little pinker (although it’s so minimal). Cyndi is a little shinier finish while Born with it is slightly more matte (although isn’t a matte formula). But I would happily call this a dupe and will now cry a whole lot less when my Cyndi does eventually run out.
In terms of wear time as quite a glossy lipstick, neither of these last a tremendous amount of time on the lips and neither one of these lasts better than the other. I love this shade and if like me for summer when I do not want a bold rich red, I love this washed out coral red alternative.
Best part this is a mere £1 – MAC VG are now running at £15.50 although I think when I bought it was £10.50 (those were the days!).
What do you think of This Viva Glam Cyndi Dupe? Have you tried it – or anything else that’s similar?
