Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day Review

If I have the option I like to choose paraben and sulphate free shampoos and conditioners. I’ve recently fallen quite strongly in love with L’Oreal’s pure colour range, but when I needed to repurchase I couldn’t find it on offer anywhere. So in stepped Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day Range, which came with a firm recommendation from my good blog friend Rachwat.

As a rule I haven’t loved anything that I’ve tried from Soap and Glory in the past. I’ve never understood the hype over their products. When I purchased these, they were on 3 for 2 across the line and after trying (and liking) the Orangeasm Body Polish  which I picked up as the third item. I was hoping I was going to love these too after.

Sulphates are normally what’s added to shampoos to help them foam up, so there being a lack of them can sometimes mean that they are hard to work with. I can’t help but compare the the L’Oreal pure colour which foamed up very easily, this does foam up, but it needs a little more time to work up but does leave my hair feeling clean. These both smell very nice too, I’m not sure if this is the classic S&G scent having not tried anything from the line for many years,.

The problem I have with this pair is the conditioner. It does not agree with my hair at all! I leave this on for 3 minutes as instructed, it becomes impossible to brush through (even with my wet brush which has made brushing my hair easy to do.) – and once dry my hair feels like straw and I’ve been noticing more breakages at the ends.

The Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day shampoo does a great job of leaving my hair feeling clean, and when paired with another conditioner it does a good job. But I will be instructing Ben to use up the conditioner because it gets such a big thumbs down from me. Overall whilst I like the shampoo, I prefer everything about the L’Oreal Pure Colour line more, easier foaming shampoo, conditioner that doesn’t make my hair feel like straw, and whilst I like the smell of these, I love the subtle scent of the mint and rosemary in the L’Oreal.

If you’ve tried Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day range let me know what you’ve thought!

I’ve been meaning to try this shampoo for a while now so I might pick it up next time I’m in Boots 🙂 The L’Oreal shampoo sounds great too! Jay x

I know other people love both – i like the shampoo but think the Loreal is better, I had to rebuy it this weekend as my hair was feeling terrible and my hair was very thankful to be reunited! X
