A England Tristam – Swatch & Review

A England Tristam – Swatch & Review

A England is a range which I’ve neglected to give any real love to over the years, only trying out Princess Sabra which I picked up as part of a blog sale – I was so impressed with the formulation that I was eager to add others onto my list to try.

For those who aren’t familiar with the brand – A England is a ‘bigger’ Indie line. For the most part the line is more traditional rich colours, mostly shimmers, metallics and holographics, with only few rose pinks and pale shades. There’s no neons or brights here at all and the line feels like a medieval painting, a sea of rich beautiful colours.  Princess Sabra was probably one of the best nail formulas I have tried, so I was excited to try more.  a-england-tristam-swatch-and-review

A England Tristam was the shade from my recent Nail Polish Direct Haul that I was waiting to come back into stock. Patiently waiting for almost 3 months for it to arrive back in – it was worth the wait. It’s a deep navy with a non linear holographic sparkle, which is most noticeable in sun – it’s not over the top holographic – which I think paired with a navy wouldn’t quite work, it’s enough to give interest, feel different and look classy without going overboard. Tristam is opaque within 1 coat – although I find adding 2 makes it extra glossy without the need to add a topcoat on top, and it dries really quickly too.

Wear time on A England Tristam was 5 days with just a base coat and 2 coats of this – which is pretty impressive! I imagine with a coat of seche this would take you into a full week too! I fell in love with this colour whilst it was on, but had to talk myself out of repainting again and again. But come autumn and winter this will easily be a new staple!

In one way I really love that the line has kept to it’s initial style and core of rich colours – but when the formulation is so great I kind of want to get everything from it. I’m excited to try out the other 3 colours which I got as part of my haul (although I fear this might be the birth of a new brand obsession, I’m already swooning over Incense Burner, Virgin Queen, Crown of Thistles and Excalibur!)

It’s not blue but it’s not purple. It’s not glitter but it kind of it. It’s just super pretty!! So great for the holidays too!

I love A. England polishes! I have six so far – Holy Grail, Briar Rose, Saint George, Ascalon, Jane Eyre and Camelot. I’m going to have to add Tristam to my wish list 🙂

STUNNING. I like how the soft focus really shows off the multi-faceted shimmer. This is a colour that can be made into jewellery
