More “Essentials” Shopping – Home, Fashion & Beauty

Another fantastic kick of to no spend month part 2 with another haul. These are products which I’m about to run out of, or did run out of last month most aren’t proper essentials per se, but they’re things I don’t want to do without. All of them I could possibly have waited for but… didn’t. I had one of those days where I went shopping, I managed to squeeze all this in in half an hour whilst the boyfriend was at the hairdressers, and I never have days where I like everything I set my eyes on!

New Look

haul-new-look-neon-top

Top £11.99 (Link – this is called ‘pink’)

You know when you walk past a shop with no intention of going in, and then as you walk past the door something catches your eye and you have to take a few paces backwards and walk in? Well that’s what happened here, this is so bright the camera doesn’t properly do it justice. Described on their website as pink, this is more of a orange/coral (and on their website it looks red). This is a lovely floaty material with pretty thin straps going into a racer back. I plan to wear this on Friday to go and see Ed Sheeran, so he can see me… as I’ve got the worst possible seats in the building! This will look gorgeous with blacks, whites and denim and bring out my tan to the max! (They also do this in about 10 other shades if eye popping neon isn’t your thing)

Boots

haul-orangeasm-glad-hair-day

I was trying to get my hands on my new Favourite shampoos ‘L’Oreal Pure Colour’ as I’m coming to the end of both the shampoo and contioner, but they weren’t on offer anywhere and I begrudged paying almost £7 each for them when I bought them previously £3 a month ago. I decided to pick up the Soap and Glory’s Glad Hair Day shampoo and conditioner on the recommendation of my blog soulmate Rachwat. They are paraben & sulphate free, which I’ve been getting on really well with on the L’oreal, so I thought I would give these ago, plus I have someone to blame if I don’t like them!

Soap and Glory was on 3 for 2 so I picked up Orangeasm Body Polish as my third item – in need of another body scrub as my only remaining one from My Little Box is just too nice to use all the time, and it’s quite a small tube. This smells amazing like it’s made just from pure oranges.

Sainsburys

haul-sainsburys-candle-diffuser-tealight

I’m not going to talk too much about these, as I’m going to do a home fragrance chat in a few days. But all of these were reduced in the Sale, The reed diffusers were £4 each, small candle £2, Large candle £4, and Tealights £1.75. All in fresh summery fragrances… that might just be a dupe for something WAY more expensive.

haul-sainsburys-check-throw

Check Throw – £6 (in Sale)

We’ve had my purple fleece on the back of our sofa that I’ve had since I was 14 since we moved in. It matches the room in no way what so ever, and is starting to look a bit past it’s best for something that you have out all the time. We both saw and pointed at this at the same time. It came in a few different colour ways – but we opted for the neutral with washed out mustard yellow. Nice for summer nights when it’s got a bit chilly or this would also make a good picnic blanket… if you can guarantee the grass is definitely dry!

Superdrug

Schwarzkopf Beach Matt Sea Salt Spray – Reduced £2.70

I still have one sea salt spray left in my haircare collection, however I’ve been to use it a couple of times over the past month and the pump/tube/nozzle seems to have got clogged and sticky with the product as it’s not doing a great job of pumping the product out. Seeing this for £2.70 as I was stood in the queue I decided to pick it up. Sea salt spray on super hot days that we are currently having in the UK = ultimate effortless hair. I can wash my hair in the morning (something normally out of the question as it will take me an hour to wash, blowdry and style), but I can wash and put this in, by the time I’ve made it to work it will be dry. Making bold claims of mermaid waves, this is all I want from a hair salt spray!

Revolution The One Blush Stick in Matt Malibu – £5

This is the product that you could most argue isn’t essential, at some point this month I expect to run out of my current favourite Too Faced Powder Bronzer and a lot of the others I have in my collection will be too light for my current bronzed skin or aren’t matt. I’ve been wanting to get this for ages as it’s a dupe for Nars Laguna, and it’s always been out of stock in my local superdrug, so I snapped this up while I could get it!

Hills (Local Department Store)

haul-wonderbra

Wonderbra Strapless Bra – Reduced £36 -> £26

Is this TMI? Who cares! I’m “blessed” with larger breasts, but that makes finding strapless bras my least favourite task. I’ve had one of these for 4 years, but it’s been past it’s last legs for a while. So far this summer there has been a whole host of outfits that I’m yet to enjoy as I’ve had no strapless bras. The sales assistant wasn’t sure if they’re discontinuing this particular strapless bra as a whole as they were all reduced, or whether it was just their store. Either way, if you’ve not tried this and you can get your hands on it do, they are fantastic and actually give you the feeling of support!

haul-mugs-

I couldn’t resist these mugs as they were reduced to £2 each. I got 3 of each of the pretty pastel colours in the 2 different designs. They’re from a generic brand called ‘home sweet home’ and I can’t seem to find any links to buy them!

haul-cushion-beagle

Voyage Beagle Cushion

I saw this cushion when we first got Dexter, and was talked out of buying it at £32 – I’ve regretted it since and I couldn’t remember the name of the brand. I’ve looked in lots of department stores so when I saw it, and saw it was reduced to £17, I snapped it up. No idea where it’s going to live, but I’m a crazy beagle lover, who will buy anything if it has a beagle on it (I’ve even got a beagle stamp collection going – aren’t I cool)!

What do you think of my totally necessary essentials? I’m heading to London this weekend again, and we don’t have many plans other than seeing Ed Sheeran. My Boyfriend owes me a birthday present (with 5 months interest added), and has promised to take me shopping to get something, so there may be another small haul next week. I’m also thinking of getting a new foundation as nothing in my collection matches me very well at the moment, and I may head to the newly UK launched Makeup Forever Stand in Debenhams to try out their HD foundation, If you’ve tried it let me know what you think!

He was quite stunned when he came to find me paying for the cushions and mugs and saw how many bags I had accumulated in a small space of time. Pro shopper, get in and get out! Thanks for popping by <3 x

I love Soap and Glory – my fave scent is the lime one they do! xx

Sugar Crush? I’ve smelt this many a time in boots, sometimes I seem to like it sometimes I don’t! My only worry with them is that they’re so big I’m worried I would get fed up and have loads left! xxx

      • July 7, 2015 / 6:20 pm

Yes..I think that’s what it’s called. I adore the body butter in that scent! I haven’t tried loads of their products, but my favourite has to be the body butter – I never get fed up with it 🙂 Xxx

        • July 7, 2015 / 6:22 pm

Never been a big body butter lover – (crime I know), think I’m too lazy and don’t get a lot of dry skin, Nivea in shower for me the ultimate lazy girl! Do want to try more from S&G though, been loving orangeasm for the past few days 🙂

          • July 7, 2015 / 6:48 pm

I’m very picky tbh! Is the Nivea in shower good? I haven’t tried that 🙂 definitely need to try some of those – I love orange scents, so fresh! x

          • July 7, 2015 / 6:58 pm

Yes, personally like the one which is cocoa butter – little bit more expensive and you get less, but goes so much further as its thicker, I just finished mine and it lasted over 6 months! The normal one lasted me a month x

          • July 7, 2015 / 7:03 pm

oh wow, think I might have to try it 🙂 x

  3. July 7, 2015 / 7:15 pm

This was all acquired in half an hour? Gold medal for shopping goes to you!
Bras are NOT TMI – we’re all women who wear bras and have periods – whatever. That bra is lovely – feminine yet smooth looking under tshirts. (I hate strapeless bras though – I’m not blessed as you and those don’t stay up!) 😛
Aaaah thta Beagle pillow is so nice! I used to try to find home decor with my old dog on them but German Shorthaired Pointers aren’t so common, lol.

    • July 7, 2015 / 7:20 pm

Small town with only a handful of shop = shopping efficiency! Strapless bras are normally a problem in staying not up for me too – I think you need an in between size! I’ve only had plain ones of this before but the lace is so smooth, it’s almost like a mesh! Beagles are hard enough, I can imagine how much harder it is for those beauties! X

Nice haul! I wish I could try the Soap & Glory brand! 🙂

    • July 7, 2015 / 9:42 pm

I had a bad allergic reaction to a cleanser years ago and never went back. I have yet to use the shampoo and conditioner yet, but orangeasm is really nice! I know there is a way to get the products from somewhere in the US, as I’ve seen US youtubers buying them, and there is a US distributor on the back of the bottles – no idea where from, I thought it used to be sephora or HSN, but they both seem to have a page with no products on at the moment 🙁 xx

Yeah I think Sephora stopped selling them. :/ I remember they had a sale on it when they were going to stop selling. I’m sure they can be found somewhere. I will just have to do some research. The orangegasm sounds amazing!! 🙂 xo
