June 2015 Empties: Bodycare

Happy Tuesday! If you missed yesterday’s post – I have a MASSIVE 45 empties this month, so have split up my empties into 4 posts, yesterday’s was facial skincare, so make sure you go back and check that out if you missed it. Today’s however we have what I used up in Body care during June.

Garnier Oil Beauty Lotion Sample

I’ve had multiple samples of these stuck to the inside of magazines and I absolutely love them. They’re a very nourishing light lotion that rubs into the skin very easily and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling behind.

Repurchase? Once I’m through my stash I will do!

Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser Indulging Cocoa

I much prefer this over the normal Nivea shower moisturiser. This cocoa version is much, thicker and creamier, and you need far less. I went through the normal version in a matter of weeks, this one has lasted me since October. Because it’s so thick and nourishing I don’t find I need to use this daily (but I don’t get dry skin). I will always pick up this version over the other from now on.

Repurchase?: Yes, but at the moment because I’m out of my stash it’s forcing me to use my stash of normal lotions, so once I’m more through those, I will do!

L’Occitaine Mer & Mistral Shower Gel

From the My Little French Provence Box, I thought I would whizz through this sample size of shower gel in a few days. A little went a long way with this shower gel as it bubbled up nicely, and it must have lasted me 3 weeks of daily use (and I’m guessing my Boyfriend stole some too!). This smelt lovely (if you’re familiar with the Beach Walk Yankee Candle – it’s exactly like that).

Repurchase? If I fancied an expensive treat for myself then I might do, but I don’t tend to indulge in shower gels. I would like to see if they do anything else in this fragrance though

L’Occitaine Verbena Soap

I haven’t quite finished this yet, but I do want to throw the packet away. Another item from the My Little French Provence box from last month. This has a lovely herbal/lemony scent, nice for washing your hands, I have also found that it’s really good for cleaning makeup brushes with. Quickly swirling them over wet removes every scrap of left on product easily.

 Repurchase? Maybe actually!

Mr Bean Mandarin Coffee Scrub

I won’t talk too much about this as I did a full review here, but I’d been holding onto the last use of this for quite a while, and decided to de-clutter my shower as much as possible. I LOVE this, received in a Love Me Beauty box, this Aussie brand doesn’t ship to the UK, so why it was put into a box I don’t know! If anyone knows of any alternatives in the UK please let me know, I haven’t had chance to research yet!

Repurchase?: If I could yes!

L’Occitaine Rose de Reines Handcream

Another item from the French Provence Box (used 4 out of 5 products up as I loved them so much!) I’m very particular with Rose scents, as my parents own a garden rose nursery and have been dragged down rose fields since a very young, so anything that’s fake rose scented, I know. This was a beautiful subtle rich rose scent. I love the L’Occitaine handcreams – and I think this is my favourite scented one to date.

Repurchase? No – purely because they always have these handcreams in magazines so will stock up when I can get them for a fraction of the price.

L’Occitaine Verbena Body Lotion

The 4th product from the special L’Occitaine my Little Box, I really love the scent of these Verbena products. I mainly used this on my feet at night time as my heels have been so dry from constant sandal wearing, and sleeping with socks on top. It did a fab job of getting dry tough skin back to normal. The annoying thing with this is the plastic is so hard, there is loads of product left in that can’t be squeezed out (and it’s pretty much been a pain from the start).

Repurchase?: No, because I’d be scared the packaging problems would be the same!

Cowshed Wild Cow Body Lotion

From the Fleur De Force My Little Box, I can’t quite decide whether I like the scent of this or not. It’s very herbal/foody as it has essential oils of lemongrass, ginger & rosemary – when I was applying on myself I could have easily been basting a chicken if I shut my eyes. In terms of the lotion I think it’s nice, I don’t think it’s as nice for the price as what they charge.

Repurchase?: No – another product you can often get free in magazines, and I don’t think they’re worth their normal £19 pricetag!

Daisy Marc Jacobs Body Lotion

This was something I completely forgot I had, I was a little afraid to use this as I’m allergic to the MJ perfumes (sadly as I love them). This had a slight shimmer running though which was nice for summer to use as a subtle highlight in places like on the collar bone or down the centre of the legs. Luckily no rashes with this.

Repurchase?: No – I wouldn’t buy a high end perfume lotion unless it came in a set for free.

Duck Island Body Lotion

The hotel we stayed in last month had these Duck Island products, which I’ve had in Birchboxes when I was first subscribed! These have a very nice citrus scent, and are an “okay” lotion, nothing out of the ordinary.

Repurchase?: No

Have you tried any of these goodies?

Tomorrow I have the introduction of No Buy Month (version 2) and a little essentials stock up shopping that I did to see me through! Haircare empties will be up on Thursday, with Nail, Makeup & Fragrance Empties on Friday!

I’m still in shock that you got through so many products this month! Are you doing another month of no-buy?
Now that I’m moving I need to get cracking on reduce my stash & probably clear through my wardrobe D: It shouldn’t be that bad as I only moved 4 months ago but I have a feeling it will be! So I’m going to be cutting right back on my spending this month x

Yes! Going to be doing another month – got some essentials stock up tomorrow, then back to no buy! It’s not that hard when you get into it, and it’s satisfying seeing how much you can get through and declutter x

Well I’m only a year out of student living so I should be fine! Plus I’ve got a holiday to look forward to so that should help keep me on track 😊 I’ve just bought some clothes too so can’t think of a huge amount I need. Conditioner is high on my to buy list ATM I’m basically out! But a couple things I actually need won’t hurt x

        • June 30, 2015 / 8:25 am

No exactly, it’s about seeing your way through stockpiles of the same stuff! Conditioner is an essential, no amount of no spend desperation can prevent the need to buy that! x

          • June 30, 2015 / 8:37 am

Exactly! Just got to be sensible and only get necessities, which is easier said than done sometimes but I was really good with my finances last month and so got to treat myself to some new clothes for work and now just need to keep being good x

    And there’s MORE empties – WOWEE! πŸ˜€
Now you got me curious about that Garnier Oil Beauty Lotion! I hope we start receiving those in magazines – I’ve gotten a few of those Nivea in shower moisturizers which I have yet to try.
Interesting that you used the L’Occitaine soap to wash your brushes – would have never thought to try that! I love the Milk soap from them.
It was quite the L’Occitane month for you huh! πŸ˜‰

It was I love Their products but don’t think I’ve ever treated myself to anything from there so I always steam through when I get them! 2 more empties posts for June Friday/Saturday still haircare, nails, makeup and fragrance!

Many you could find another seller of the coffee scrub? There could be something on the box’s website that would allow shipping to the UK or you could go on Amazon or something similar! I hope you find it! It’s really frustrating when a box gives you something and you can’t repurchase!! I’m shocked by how many empties you have!! xoxo

    • June 30, 2015 / 2:10 pm

I’ve tried and not found anything they only seem to sell through their website, also tweeted them but never heard from them! I’ll try again though, need something similar!
