I’d forgotten about this little gem that I bought from Essie at the end of last month, immediately put in my ‘I want to review this’ box – it got forgotten about and never got picked at random as most of the nail polishes in there do. From the current summer collection, Essie Private Weekend is completely up my street.
At every available opportunity to talk about my love of white glitter, I do. White glitter nail polishes (as in base white, with white glitter) are too hard to come by, to the point where I’ve only found one, which I fondly named my post on it “Is this the worst nail polish ever?” – clearly it wasn’t great! This has a very very subtle glitter, with little flecks of silvery white – which is almost impossible to capture with the camera. In the bottle it just has a subtle glistening effect which catches the light nicely.
Disappointedly there is no hint of the pretty glistening effect that can be seen in the bottle. This comes across as completely white on the nail – had I not have had been in the need to get another white, I would have been very annoyed! It’s such as shame, adding the glitter to this formula is such as waste – I can’t even see it on the brush all that much so I’m inclined to think it sticks to the side of the bottle! If you’re stood googling this in the shop (as I was attempting too, but couldn’t get a signal), I’d stay away from this unless you’re happy to have a pure white.
This was opaque in 2 coats, wasn’t a very shiny finish – so is pictured with a topcoat here. It lasted 3 days before I took it off in annoyance!
Any white glitter polish recommendations?
