Nails Inc Soho Place – Review & Swatch

Nails Inc Soho Place – Review & Swatch

Whilst I’ve never been the biggest fan of Nails Inc with only 1 or 2 polishes from the big handful of polishes I’ve tried from them have been worth the money. I put my bad experiences aside and tried to reserve judgement to try the newly bottled, and new to me gel formula in the form of Nails Inc Soho Place.

Nails Inc Soho Place is from their Gel Effect line, picked up as my last credit in my June Love Me Beauty box, choosing a nice summery colour from the collection online, this pretty turquoise polish is fit for summer. These babies aren’t cheap at almost £15 per pop, so I was hoping to have miraculous performance for such a high ticketed item.

On first coat, these apply very nice and opaque – if it wasn’t for the fact that they wasn’t glossy. A second coat gives a nice finish, although I wouldn’t go as far to say that it has gel like qualities. Disappointedly, again my main sticking point with Nails Inc – this chipped way too quickly for me – under 24 hours before significant chips appeared to the point my nails needed repainting- and I wasn’t very well so was chilling on the sofa with some mild pottering around the house. I tried it out a second time, to check it wasn’t just bad luck – and it had the same performance issues again.

With a topcoat, this may last longer, but surely that defies the point of a gel effect polish if you get the shine that a topcoat would give, without actually having to apply one. Also for me, a bigger trademark of gel polishes is the thick layer – this doesn’t create that effect, and personally whilst Barry M doesn’t nail it, their ‘Gelly’ line does a better job in my opinion of coming close to recreating it, and this is about 4 times the price.

Overall, another Nails Inc polish which I’m sadly not impressed with!

What do you think of Nails Inc? Any recommendations I should try?

The color is really great, just a little disappointed in the finish and chipping.

I have it on and it’s lasted pretty well for me for a nails inc, it was four days before the chipping started without a top coat. I wish Barry M ones worked better for me, less than a day and they chip. I have found nails inc a bit hit and miss with the ones I’ve bought and it’s normally the free exclusive ones with magazines that last the best for me which seems a bit backwards when you spend a few pounds on a magazine and get a better formula than the full price ones. I think they might be trying to get rid of this colour as it’s £10 on their store now and it’s in so many beauty boxes.

Yeah I’ve thought so too, love me beauty tend to have past limited edition collections – but still doesn’t change that they were once 15 quid. Much prefer OPI for something of a similar price point, tend to get way less misses

I love the color of this nail polish but have to agree I’m not impressed with Nails Inc either. I bought one on sale also the gel formula and it is eh at best. I did not like the chipping at all! Hope you have a great day ❤️ xo Janet

I like the regular Nails Inc polishes I’ve tried so far, but not sure if I’d shell out more money for the Gel Effect version, especially if they’re not shiny as per your review. This colour is gorgeous though – would look really nice on the toes too, I bet. Does the outer cap come off, like the Butter London polishes?
