Oz Naturals Rice Enzyme Dermafoliant Review

Oz Naturals Rice Enzyme Dermafoliant

When I was offered the chance to try out a product from OZ naturals*, I couldn’t hold myself back. Over the past few weeks I’ve been suffering with massive spots coming up every week or so, so a change up in routine was just what I needed and I was straight to introducing the Oz Naturals Rice Enzyme Dermafoliant.

One type of product I’m always keen to try more of is when it comes to skincare is natural products, and that’s just what this is OZ Naturals Ancient Orient Rice Enzyme Dermafoliant*, (a little bit of a mouthful) is 100% vegan, cruelty free, 90% organic and 100% natural.

With only a few ingredients, it’s easy to see through the mass of unheard of ingredients which you can’t normally make head or tail of.

  1. BAMBOO – added to exfoliate skin & unclog pores
  2. LACTIC ACID & ALPHA LIPOIC ACID – to aid the exfoliation process further by removing &  breaking down dead skin cells to reveal glowing skin underneath. Also assisting in the reduction of fine lines, wrinkles and signs of premature ageing from sun damage. Acting as an anti-inflammatory to help reduce redness, blotchiness & pore size
  3. GREEN TEA EXRACT – Rich in antioxidants and helps to prevent collagen breakdown as well as tone & protect the skin
  4. VITAMIN B5 – Penetrates deep down after exfoliating and helps retain moisture and relieving dry, irritated skin

Texture of this is difficult to describe, I’d compare it to being a bit like sand – it’s almost a little sharp and on the first few uses it did take a bit of getting used to. Applied with the hands using a little water after shaking out a 50p size amount of product, working in circular motions for a few minutes – leaving on for 5 minutes or so before washing away allowing enough time for the lactic acid to do it’s magic. It’s recommended to be used every 2-3 days, and I’d agree with that, as it’s on the harsher side daily use would be too much.

This isn’t a product which eventually melts down and you need to get some more out, a little goes a long way as you can really scrub and move the product around your face, so whilst this isn’t the cheapest available, and it’s not a daily use product, this should last months.

So “what about the results?” I hear you cry! I didn’t notice any change in my skin for the first few days, other than it was doing a good job of buffing away dry skin on healing spots, but after a week I noticed that all the ‘small spots that aren’t really spots’ around my face had disappeared and my skin was glowing. I started getting comments about my skin – the first time in months – and nothing else skincare or makeup wise in my routine had changed – so I can put it down to this product.

The only thing I don’t love about this is the packaging, the cap feels a little loose, which I think would be a little awkward for travel – and it doesn’t feel quite ‘water tight’, I love to do all of my routine in the shower, and because it’s a powder – I think I would come back to it being a paste after a couple of times. However using it out of the shower is worth it to get glowing skin!
