Freedom Makeup Haul

Can everyone congratulate me on the shortest lived spending ban ever? I did pre-warn that if Freedom (a new brand from the people behind Revolution) was going to launch this month, then I might break the ban. I did keep myself very restrained with my order – only ordering £12.40 worth of products and delivery was free. I’ve talked about how much I love Revolution weekly on my blog, and would have broke the ban eventually as I saw reviews rolling in, so I thought I may as well get it out the way on the day of launch and order the few items I wanted to try.

Pro Glow Purr – £2.50

I couldn’t work out if this was horrendous or magnificent – so I got it this also looks a lot like a dupe from Too Faced and I have loved the products I’ve had from them in my Love Me Beauty box, that I decided to give it a go.

Bronze and Baked Palette – £6

In the teaser promo there was one product in particular that stood out to me as the thing that I needed. Right now, I’m all about the bronzer and highlighting – I don’t like a really over the top look, but for summer I’m wearing quite stripped back makeup with really glowing bronzed skin. A mix of 8 matte, shimmer and highlighting shades, I’m excited to give this a try. There’s also 2 beautiful blush palettes similar to this, one in pinks one in peach which I have my eye on too, if this one is any good.

Lipsticks Candy Sweet & Born With It – £1 Each

I had no need for either of these, but at £1 I couldn’t resist. Both pretty shades and I don’t think I have anything which is like Candy Sweet at all in my collection. Born With It reminds me of a slightly pinker version of MACs Viva Glam Cyndi – I might do a side by side comparison of this in future!

Pro Butters Sugar Fix – £3 Each

These seem quite expensive when compared the lipsticks, but you’ll know that I’ve been loving liquid lipsticks since trying the OFRA ones if you read regularly – and these looked a bit similar from what I could tell. It’s more of a halfway house between a lipstick and a gloss – it’s not a super sticky formulation, but it’s got a thicker more shiny effect than a lipstick

Nail Polishes 430 (Raspberry) and 423 (Coral) – £1 each

I am physically unable to not try a nail polish when a new brand comes along. I picked up 2 pretty standard shades, as you’d expect from a budget line, everything was pretty standard in terms of their line up.

The only thing that I wish you could do is order products from both Revolution and Freedom together. This essentially is the same brand just in different packaging – it’s a clever idea as they’ve created excitement around the brand being from another, but it means 2 separate websites are needed, so if you’re looking to place an order from across both the brands it’s a little annoying – I imagine they’re dispatched from the same warehouse!

There’s a discount code running until the 30th June, I got it because I signed up to their early newsletters early, so might be worth a go if you want to order, 20% off – enter BEFREETOMAKEUP.

So jealous! I was tempted to order but as they are from the same company I was worried it was just the same but with a different name. Those polishes are gorgeous x

I think it’s been a clever marketing ploy by them – the products seem the same in quality, are for the most part priced the same too. Because we’re now all obsessed with makeup revolution, so we’re going to want to try their new brand too – they could have easily included this as part of the revolution line and it would have fitted in perfectly, never the less the products are good, just annoying that they aren’t sold in the same places to order from both brands at the same time xx

We picked up one nail varnish the same, but otherwise got completely different stuff! I went and dug all my Freedom Makeup out to compare haha, then got distracted writing up my haul. Looks like you got a great mix of things, have you tried any yet?x

I’ve just painted my nails and currently waiting for them to dry! Not tried the lipsticks or the sexy leopard print thing yet (don’t even know what it is, just drawn in by the leopard print) – tried the highlight pallete seems good but they’re super pigmented – need to find a way to make them work for everyday
