MAC Syrup Lipstick Review

The newest addition to my lipstick collection is MAC Syrup this is one which has been on my hit list for a relatively short time, and I couldn’t resist picking this up recently (pre-spending ban I promise) when I had the opportunity to pick something from MAC for a hefty discount.

MAC Syrup was a colour which kept getting talked about by big youtubers and bloggers at the start of the year. Syrup is a lustre formulation, which is one which I haven’t had from MAC before (in the 20ish lipsticks I have from them, that’s a big surprise to me!), on the lips this feels rich, creamy and moisturising.

I was a little disappointed as on others this seemed to be a deep plum based nude, however it’s not a super pigmented shade and picks up on the colour of your natural lips – so I suppose I’m only to blame for not having the same shade lips as others. Never-the-less this is still a beautiful shade, because it’s so creamy it’s not the longest lasting.

I would still say this has a purple-pink undertone, it’s a very wearable shade and the slight sheen on the lustre finish catches the light nicely. With subtle stripped back makeup I can see this becoming a firm favourite in my summer makeup routine very quickly!

Have you tried this MAC shade? If you have any other lustre formulations you would recommend please let me know, I love this one!

  1. That’s a beautiful color! I don’t love the Lustres since they tend to be sheer, but this one is very pretty. My fave Lustres are Capricious, Sophisto, and VGV. And Sheer Plum, but they d/ced it 😦
