May 2015 Empties

Not quite as many products used up from my stash as last month, but I don’t think I’ve done a bad job of continuing my attempt of getting to more clutter free stash!

May-2015-Beauty-Empties

John Freida Go Blonder Shampoo

I use this once every 2 weeks on my ombre only to keep the tone perfect, it creates quite a golden blonde – which I like as going too white wouldn’t suit my skin tone. A small travel sized tube of this lasts me ages

Repurchase?: Yes

Montagne Jeunesse Paw Paw Face Mask

Montagne Jeunesse is now called 7th Heaven. This isn’t the best mask that I’ve tried from them, I won’t talk too much about this as it had a whole face mask friday post and you can read that here.

Repurchase? No

Balance Me Radiance Face Mask

Another one which featured in my last Face Mask Friday series, I didn’t love this as a face mask, and I said in my post I thought it was more like a nice thick textured exfoliator, so that’s how I started to use it, and I got on with it better. Full review on that here.

Repurchase?: As I used it, it would be quite a pricey exfoliator, so no.

May-2015-Cotton-Empties

Sainsbury’s Boutique Cotton Pads

These are amazing, I know its just a bag of cotton wool squares, but they are a bag of the best cotton wool squares. These have lasted me since I posted about them in March, so are worth the extra cost. These had a full review here.

Repurchase? Already have x 3 (They’re never on offer and were on offer!)

May-2015-Empties-2

Sabe Masson Copacabana Solid Perfume

From my April My Little Box, I was hoping that this would last a little longer, given it had a value of £15. I must have only used this 15 times, so at a £1 per use, it’s more than you’d expect to spend on a perfume. Was handy for my handbag, but didn’t love the smell either.

Repurchase? No

Invigorate Lotion

This was lavender scented, I’m allergic to lavender. Boyfriend used up instead – just asked his opinion if he liked it, he said “yeah”. Words of wisdom, probably don’t try this based on his recommendation, unless you’re looking for a lavender body lotion.

Repurchase? No

Figs & Rouge Rose Lip Balm

A basic lip balm, similar to vaseline it acts more as a barrier than actually to repair the lips at all. An okay product, but I have  several other things similar in my stash – and if I was to repurchase, I’d go for something like the Nuxe Reve de Miele which both protects and repairs.

May-2015-Empties-3

Talika Eye Therapy Patch

A pick from my April Love Me Beauty box. I hated this product, I’ve tried something similar before and had the same feelings towards it. Excuse me for being crass here, but there’s only one way to describe this in my head. These feel like putting soggy condoms on your eyes. Possibly the least relaxing thing I can imagine, and at the end of it, I can’t see any difference that it should have made.

Repurchase? No

Eyeko Mascara Off Wipes

I had a little sample pack of 10 of these that I got in a magazine, which I saved for when I went away at the start of the month. These were a really nice thick wipe, but were absolutely tiny. 10 of these would equate to about 3 normal sized wipes. I’m not sure if that’s just these sample ones, or overall they’re tiny, but based on that not great value for money as these cost more than average.

May-2015-haircare-empties

Kerastase Cristalliste Lait Cristal Conditioner

Full review of this here, received in my March My Little Box. I liked this, I didn’t love it, especially for how much a full size of this costs, which is about £17.

Repurchase? No

Colab Extreme Volume Dry Shampoo

Another product which has had a full write up (here), I liked this but it left more of a white cast than the original formulation from this line did. I also thought that the scent was better on the original version. If you have very thin hair and you’re looking for more volume I think this will help, but be wary on dark hair.

Repurchase? No

Schwarzkopf got2b Rise & Shine Hairspray

I LOVE this hairspray, it reminds me a lot of a much more expensive one from the TIGI rockstar range. This is roughly £3, and I think when I bought it, it was on offer for half price too, so a complete bargain. This smells great (normally the thing I hate about cheaper ones as they settle on my throat), this holds a curl for me all day – a rarity, and brushes out and is flexible too.

Repurchase? Already Have

L’Oreal Elvive Nutri Gloss Shampoo

I normally love the Elvive shampoo and conditioner lines, but this has been the first which I haven’t loved. I didn’t find that it made my hair any more shiny than any other run of the mill shampoo, did a fine job on all fronts, but nothing special.

Repurchase? No

May-2015-Makeup-Empties

Err, the most awkward product to feature in empties… pencil based products. What are they…

Benefit It Stick

A concealer stick from benefit, I liked this product as a blemish concealer, but did find that it could be a little thick and heavy. Not my favourite product as I found it a bit difficult to work with.

Repurchase? No

Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners, Honey & Zero

I’ve had these for a long, long time. Recently found in my stash I decided to use them up. I love the consistency of these eye liners, they’re long lasting and have great pigmentation. Honey is a gorgeous metallic warm gold shade with hints of bronzey browns. I’ve had this for 9 years… I know that because I bought it to wear to my prom!

Repurchase? If I had need to purchase another eyeliner, yes, but you’ll discover next week I won’t need to purchase an eyeliner for quite some time.

May-2015-Soft-and-Gentle

Soft and Gentle Deodorants

I wouldn’t normally bother include a deodorant in my empties, I think you can all presume that I do use one. I decided to include these as soft and gentle have reformulated their deodorants. The  pink one is ‘visibly smooth’, and is supposed to decrease hair growth over 6 weeks. I used this for about a month before it ran out, alongside the other, and I didn’t see any difference at all.

Repurchase: Probably, but not for the effects.

You went through a lot of stuf!! Nice 🙂
I recently got the Colab extreme and normal one, and I agree with you: the white cast isn’t that visible on my hair color but I can imagine darker haired girls may struggle.

I love the John Frieda conditioner, I use it to subtly ombré my hair without using any dye! if I’m consistent in using it, it really works for me! xoxo

I used to do the exact same thing when I didn’t have my ombre in, people were always asking me what I’d done to it – great for a sunkissed look

Good job on using all of those products up! 😀
I like that you indicate whether you will repurchase or not, very helpful! I might start doing that in my empties too. 🙂
