Nails Inc Lexington Gardens – Swatch & Review

Nails Inc Lexington Gardens – Swatch & Review

My first choice from my May Love Me Beauty box, Nails Inc Lexington Gardens is a beautiful shade, falling somewhere between a lilac and a purple, a shade which would be perfect for summer. I don’t have the best luck with Nails Inc polishes, I normally find that they chip quickly and can sometimes take 3-4 coats to achieve a nice even colour. Overall, I have never found one which I have thought to be worth their price tag. Controversial as I know a lot of people love them, but I was willing to take a gamble on a couple of shades as part of my choices in this months LMB box.

Lexington Gardens is undeniably a pretty shade, it feels very fresh & fit for Spring & Summer. Pictured here with 2 coats of polish and no topcoat, this is nice and glossy all by itself. This lasted longer than my average experience with Nails Inc at a little over 2 days completely chip free, and 3 before the few chips that were there annoyed me enough to remove. But when I compare this to the long lasting manicures I’ve been doing recently with Lottie London nail polishes which are a fraction of the price, I again don’t think this warrants the normal full priced Nails Inc price tag, especially for a shade which isn’t ‘out of the ordinary’.

I believe this shade was limited edition, and has now been discontinued – but if your local CCO is anything like mine, they’re always stocked to the nines with discontinued Nails Inc shades. However if you can’t find it, and you’re looking for similar it reminds me of a slightly lighter and slightly pinker version of OPI’s A Grape Fit.

I really like Nails Inc polishes! They do last well on me (with my usual base of Orly Bonder and topcoat of Poshe). I never pay full price for them though. This shade is lovely!

I use opi nail envy as a base coat on everything, and have tried them with or without seche vite and they’ve been the same! Happy for half the price, but never the full – and prefer other brands more that are cheaper
