I picked up a miniature of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara with my April Love Me Beauty box. I’ve had this mascara for about a month, and have been pretty much using it most days since to give it a good test, after all – it’s name means it comes with a pretty bold claim.
I hadn’t tried anything from Too Faced before, and it’s a brand which I’ve heard a lot of rave reviews about, but I’m usually put off by trying things in a higher price bracket without seeing them in person myself, and living in such a rural area, near no good cities means I’m restricted by a limited number of brands around me. So I swiped up the opportunity to pick 3 items from Too Faced in My Love Me Beauty Box.
I find a mascara can change a lot, in a few weeks, a mascara which is completely mediocre on day one – can be incredible 2 weeks in once it’s got a bit of air in it, whilst others can be perfect to start and dry out very quickly. So I’m always very hesitant to give a review on a mascara straight away.
This claims to volumise, lengthen and curl. Basically everything you want from a mascara right? This can be built up to 3 coats to create different looks, but in all honesty. I’m a one coat of mascara kind of girl, once it’s done I don’t want to do it again and again – especially when I’ve found other products which give me perfect lashes in one coat.
The brush on this is chunky hourglass shaped bristle brush, my personal favourite. It can be a bit difficult to get into the inner corners as it’s so large, but as long as you’re not rushing and taking your time, you can get right in to gather every last lash. I also find this mascara more separating, than most, and on the first use I thought that wasn’t very volumising at all, but over 2 weeks of using it did get better – and now it’s at it’s peak creating long, volumised – but not clumpy – lashes which last all day. There’s no flaking or transfer.
I don’t know that this is my favourite mascara which comes from My Little Beauty – a french brand which currently doesn’t ship to the UK. But I think this might take over my next top spot, and previous number one Lancome Hypnose Drama, and is cheaper too, at £16 instead of £22 for Lancome.
What do you think of this mascara? Have you tried it?
