My Little Provence Box | May 2015 Review & Unboxing

I must admit when I had a little sneak peek at the theme for this May 2015’s My Little Box, I took a little grumble when I saw it would come from a particular region of France. The Provence region of France, is famous for it’s lavender fields, Lavender is something that I’m personally allergic to, so I was a little scared as to what the products of My Little Provence Box were going to be.

Firstly the box, I love the pretty blue and white simple floral pattern that adorns the side of the box, it’s very countryfied and I like it. Opening the box we first see that this box re-welcomes the beautiful prints which seem to have been missing from the past few, I’m glad to see them return as they have a truly talented illustrator on their team, and I love seeing her work.

THE EXTRAS

I’m always drawn to the extra items in the box over the beauty products, and this month was no exception. Firstly, a cute magnet dress up doll, with a lot of stylish outfit choices.

Next up was a beautiful little box saying Sunny Things Inside, which I found uber intriguing! Luckily it had a Gold Cuff inside, with 2 blue threads to thread your own design through the little holes. I quite like it how it is, so will probably add the threads to my sewing box for another project!

THE BEAUTY PRODUCTS

I then nervously opened the bag containing the beauty items, and was delighted with what I saw, which was a lot of sample sized L’Occitane items 🙂 – and none were lavender based – Normally there’s fewer, but more full sized items, but I’m happy with this as it’s a brand which I’ve tried and loved a lot from.

My Little Beauty – Crayon Epatant (Eyeshadow Crayon) – Full Size

my-little-provence-box-my-little-box-may-2015-crayon-epatant

I was really excited to see a deep brown eyeshadow stick – I’ve been loving a similar product from Kiko, and only a few days ago I said in my beauty lust list that I’ve been eyeing up more. This reminds me a lot of Urban Decay’s Smog eyeshadow, which is one of my favourite shades from UD, I will get a lot of use out of this beautiful metallic brown/bronze shade. This swatch is currently showing no signs of going anywhere.

L’Occitane Mer & Mistral Shower Gel – Sample Size

A very suitable for summer scented shower gel, as you may guess from the name this is very reminicent of the beach, and smells very fresh. I had a Yankee Candle very similar to this which I loved. I can’t wait to use this, I’ve not tried a shower gel from L’Occitane before.

L’Occitane Rose de Reines Hand & Nail Cream – Sample Sized

A great sized sample that is good for carrying around in your handbag, and whilst a small sample at 10ml, I know just how long these bad boys last having been through multiple tubes in the past. I’ve never had this scent before, and as the name suggests – it’s a pure rose scent. I often find rose scents can smell not quite authentic – my parents grow roses for a living, and I’ve grown up surrounded by them, so I am a little bit of an expert! But this smells just like the real thing. Beautiful!

L’Occitane Savon – Verbena Leaves Soap – Sample Size

I’m more of a liquid soap kind of gal, but the leaf shape you can see through the packet is rather cute it might just have to make an appearance. Alternatively I might give it to my mum who loves soaps, and L’Occitane, and I’m sure she’ll get a lot more pleasure of this than me.

L’Occitane Verbena Body Lotion – Sample Sized

I’ve haven’t tried this exact one, but I have had body lotions from L’Occitane in the past which I’ve really liked. The scent of this is a bit tough to describe, it’s not overpowering and lies on the very light side, and the only word that comes to mind is ‘leafy’. I love the consistency of their body lotions as they rub in so easily, and a little goes a long way.

My only critism of this box? The magnet lady only had 1 pair of shoes which only matched one outfit! She’s now chilling on my fridge, with a lemonade next to a box of vegetables.

I think this is a great box, but if you’re not a L’Occitane fan then this box is clearly not for you! You can see all past posts and themes on My Little Box here!

Ooooh I’m beginning to give in to temptation every time I read about My Little Box subs.

It seems irresistible to me.. Just so, pretty..

I’ve been subscribed since their first UK box, and I must say I love it. If I was to keep one, this would be the one – great mix of brands which are always high quality – there’s rarely anything that I think I won’t get use out of it, they’re very well curated x

That was the time I was first getting tempted, when they first came out.. I’ve cancelled so many other subs that just didn’t meet my high expectations.

I really, really think this box will – I just can’t subscribe just yet though

I just went through every box!! Lol
I’m trying to decide on a Beaty box. I Really like what you are getting with this one. It seems like they are creative and thoughtful. Now I have to see if it’s available in the U.S.!
