April 2015 Empties: Part 1

Is it me or did April go really quickly? It doesn’t feel like 5 minutes ago that I was writing up my March Empties, yet here we are again! I was surprised when I got my box out where I store my empties – which is stored up high above eyeline – as to just how much I had managed to use up. I felt like I had used barely anything, but 10 full size products & a load of samples too! Not doing too badly at clearing the old stash, but I have definately replaced with a lot of new this month too!

I pre apologise – these weren’t grouped very well from half way through photographing my brain clearly gave up categorising!

Victoria’s Secret Pure Seduction Body Spray

I love the Victoria’s Secret body sprays, I picked up 5 in January, and this has been the first that I’ve used up. This is by far my favourite that I purchased this time round. Pure Seduction had notes of Red Peony and Freesia, they smell more complex than your ‘average’ body spray to which they tend to be ‘strawberry’ or similar – but it’s also why they’re also more expensive – but when I wear this I usually replace my perfume entirely and just use these, they’ve also proved good for layering with other perfumes that I’m not so keen on. They’re worth the money – but worth picking up on the 5 for £30 rather than £12 each.

Repurchase? Yes

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy

This used to be my favourite perfumes, I still like the scent of it, but just find it doesn’t last all day on me. I’ve been making a real effort since doing my Perfume Collection posts (there was 2 I had that many perfumes!) to start using up the ones which I love less than others, and this has been the first to go. It’s a very sweet, feminine fragrance, but does feel a little juvenile to me now.

Repurchase? Not currently, maybe in future

Label M Dry Shampoo

Picking this up from the clearance section of TK Maxx, I managed to pick this up slightly cheaper than normal, and being a Label.M fan and an avid dry shampoo tester. I think this does a good job, I don’t think this does a better job than a lot of other products, Aussie or Colab remain my favourites to date, and are both cheaper than the usual RRP of this too. Full review here

Repurchase? If I saw it cheap again yes, otherwise no

L’Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water

I prefer the Garnier Micellar Water, but in the event that I can’t get it in the store I am in, I will happily opt for this for this instead. The Garnier leaves my skin feeling cleaner, and does a bit of a better job removing my mascara. But my main problem with this is that I find the cap so wasteful when it comes to putting it on a cotton pad. It flows out and gives way more product than needed, meaning this only lasted me a few weeks, the garnier one will last me 2 months or more.

Repurchase? Yes, If I can’t get Garnier.

Cailyn Dizzolv’It Makeup Melt Cleansing Balm

I struggled with this, posting a review here, this was my first try of a cleansing balm and it was rubbish. This dissolved way to quickly – trying to use both with wet skin and dry skin it just turned to liquid before having change to massage in and melt away your makeup as it namesake describes.

Repurchase? Nooooo!

Steam Cream

This is a fabulous natural multipurpose moisturiser. If you have sensitive skin I think that you’ll love this. I use it anywhere and everywhere, it instantly absorbs into the skin. It’s very lightweight and a little goes a long way. This was in a limited edition christmas packaging but they always have lots of beautiful designs.

Repurchase? It was a twin pack so already have another to keep me going!

L’Occitaine Vanilla Bouquet Hand Cream

Repurchase? Maybe not this scent, but would buy L’Occitaine again/inevitably wait until they have the free full size ones in the magazine as they always do in summer!

Anatomicals Shower To The People Shower Gel

A choice from my January Love Me Beauty, I’ve loved past products I have tried out from Anatomicals so was happy to see a product which I hadn’t tried from them as an option. This was a lime scented shower gel – sorry body cleanser (felt/looked smelt like a shower gel – could have fooled me!), but the scent wasn’t very strong. Whilst not expensive, i’m normally someone who will pick up whatever is on offer at the supermarket, and this didn’t do anything better than Radox, Original Source etc.

Repurchase? No

Korres Vanilla Plum Body Milk

I’m sad to say goodbye to this, I picked this up from my local CCO probably 18 months ago now. I’m not a fan of Vanilla scents – but this doesn’t particularly smell like vanilla, it’s a very sophisitcated spicy fruit fragrance, that was especially nice during Christmas. The consistency of the Body Milk was thicker than your average body lotion while thinner than a body butter. My skin loved this, especially my feet.

Repurchase? Not Immediately, as I have a constant stash of body moisturisers from beauty boxes, but I would repurchase again if I had none.

Part 2 of the empties will be up tomorrow! Let me know your thoughts if you’ve tried any of these before.

Impressive job using up so many products! Enough items to warrant a two-parter, wow!
Funny, I’m THIS close to finishing my tin of Steam Cream too – it will probably be in my May empties. My tin design is different from yours – I think mine are Cherry Blossoms. Are you planning on keeping the tin?

It’s already gone in the bin so no! I wish I had thought about keeping it now you’ve said! I’ll keep the next one I use up – that’s red with snowflakes, I’ll try and get a more year round friendly one next time, it does look a bit silly sitting on my dressing table in April! Xx

I’m not even entirely sure what I’ll use the tin for! I just like keeping them lol. I have another one that a friend gave me and it’s another floral design. I love all the seasonal / limited edition designs they release! I only use the cream on my hands, maybe I should try on my body too.

It’s really good on my elbows and knees where it’s a bit drier! Because it’s not massive tub as much as I’d love to use it everywhere I just keep to the dry patches xx
