Travel Bucket List

I saw Rachwat do a post over on her blog about a competition that Transun are currently running to win a trip for 2 to see the Northern Lights. I thought, that this would be a nice post to write up on a sunny afternoon, so decided to copy her!

Seeing the northern lights is something that the boyfriend and I have spoke about for years, but I decided to skip over the obvious as if I didn’t want to see them, I wouldn’t be entering!

So here’s my top 3 travel bucket list

Santarini, Greece

I’ve oogled over images of Santarini for years – and it was only yesterday that I’ve been pricing up a holiday there for the 20th time this month. Santarini is a volcanic Greek Isle which looks by all accounts absolutely stunning, it’s not yet a tourist hotspot, so remains unspoilt – away from the normal hustle and bustle of usual summer resorts. I’ve heard rumours from a friend who has been about having amazing authentic restaurants and nothing sounds as perfect as watching the sun go down over this sea view whilst eating beautiful greek food. Right now, a quiet beach getaway is just what the Doctor ordered – and I would quite like it to be here!

Budapest, Hungary

Hopefully on the cards for later this year with my sister and our partner’s – we’re just waiting for our calendars to ‘align’ to allow us to go! As much as I love a sunshine filled holiday with lazing about on the beach taking up the vast majority of of time. I also love a rich culture filled city break – and with a sister who has a master’s degree it’s almost compulsory if I want to do anything with her!

I’ve visited a fair few cities in Europe, 2 I’ve particularly loved have been Prague and Berlin, and I imagine Budapest to be reminiscent of both in terms of hearty food, buildings and museums. I’m a lover of art, and would happily drag everyone else to the Hungarian National Gallery. But Budapest is also littered with thermal baths which are set in beautiful locations too which offer something very different to every other city I’ve visited.

Florida Road Trip

This is something which has been planned for about 2 years – but finding the time to take 2 weeks off work constantly seems impossible! Starting at Orlando for a 3-4 days naturally taking advantage of the mass of theme parks and water parks on the doorstep, then hitting the road and travelling down the West Coast stopping at different towns and cities along the way to get to Naples FL before heading cross state to Miami for a few days before flying home. Maybe we could bolt on a few extra days in the Florida Keys too? No doubt this would be a tiring holiday as it would be packed with constant travel, but a mix of busy cities and quiet towns would be a varied way to spend a few weeks jet setting across a US state which has far more to offer than just theme parks – although yay Disney!.

To enter you need to be in the UK (sorry!), write your top 3 bucket list holiday locations up and tweet it to @Transun using the following hashtag: #TransunLights.

The only catch? You have to bring me if you win (personal rule, not official).

What are your top 3 dream holiday locations?

Good luck with your list. Budapest and Florida is worth a visit. Santorini is one of my dream destinations too 🙂

I’ve been to Florida in my teens, but spent most of our time in Orlando, bar a few day trips! I dream of being in santorini even though I have never been, I’ve just looked at pictures enough! Xx
