The Wet Brush Shine Review

The Wet Brush Shine Review

It’s not very often that I try a product for the first time and immediately think it warrants a blog post let alone holy grail status. But The Wet Brush Shine hairbrush in a matter of days has literally started changing my life. I’ve held off for a few days to check my initial impressions were correct…

The Wet Brush lists itself as being the number one selling hairbrush in the US, although is personally not a brand I had heard of until before Christmas. I must admit I grumbled at the sight of this product’s bold claims of being excellent at defanging with no tugging, pulling or tears. The rule of not brushing your hair when wet doesn’t apply with this brush (although I never have listened to that advice!).

I debated for months about picking The Wet Brush Shine up as whilst not the most expensive brush it’s not the cheapest either. As positive reviews of this started rolling in, I decided to bite the bullet and try. My hair knots like no other, and within minutes of brushing there will be fresh knots all over. Recently this has been getting worse to the point where I’ve noticed shedding more than normal and my thick hair has started thinning.

I picked up the “shine” version of this brush, which is densely packed with shorter Mongolian boar bristles amongst the longer intelliflex bristles. This just looks like a “normal” hairbrush, nothing would strike me as being a bit out of the ordinary in terms of it’s performance.

Wet or Dry, this glides through my hair with so much ease, with no pulling, tugging or tears in the corners of my eyes, a task which was taking at least 10 minutes of painful torture now takes 1 minute of painless pleasure. I’m very annoyed at myself for not picking it up sooner. I’m not sure that the Mongolian boar bristles add extra shine, but I think they do a great job for smoothing and removing static, which in turn creates a more glossy and shiny look. Less tugging equals less shedding and there’s barely a hair on my brush after finishing and I’ve noticed my hair hasn’t been re-knotting as quickly…

In the UK Available from Ideal World

I know a lot of people feel passionate about the tangle teaser, but personally it’s never quite cut it for me. Apart from being handy for travel. But a travel size from the wet brush range will replace it. RIP Tangle Teaser.

If you have knotty hair or kids who wince at the sight of a hairbrush like I used to, please try The Wet Brush Shine or the orignal, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

There’s not many products that I would say I would guarantee you might love, but if there was one it would be this! It’s never been easier to brush my hair! Love your new pic too 🙂 X
