When my Love Me Beauty April credits renewed on Easter Monday, I practically ran to the computer to get a hold of this month’s items, as there was one in particular I didn’t want to miss out on!
Love Me Beauty is a little different to your average beauty box, for your subscription fee you have 6 credits to spend on products of your choosing (usually 1 or 2 credits per item), but it means there’s less disappointment, you’re picking products YOU love, YOU think you’ll like, or YOU’RE interested to try – which makes me eager to try everything as soon as it lands on the doorstep!
I had a few extra credits this month from someone using my referral code, so I had 9 to use up instead of 6 (referral code will give you as a sign up extra credits as well as me, bonus!). But there was one brand in particular that stole most of my interest as I’ve always wanted to try.
Sidenote – please excuse the photography – I got home last night after doing 13 hours in the office during the week from hell. The photography is iffy, but for 11.30pm it was passable, and I wanted to get this up ASAP!
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (Sample Size)
I’ve been wanting to try this mascara for ages! It’s very similar to my previous favourite mascara Lancome Hypnose Drama in terms of it’s brush, and this was the item I was delighted to see added to the love me beauty ’boutique’ last week. The full size of this is £19 so I’m happy too see a sample size of this before curiosity got the better of me and I stumped up for the full size.
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer (Sample Size)
I haven’t tried anything from Too Faced, so I was happy to get every item I could from them (other than the eyeshadow primer as I have too many of these). The full size of this again is on the pricey side at £25, so another great way to try before you buy. A bronzer I bought a few weeks ago is a little on the pale side, so I’m happy to experiment with a new darker shade.Whist this is a sample, it’s actually quite generously sized, and other than the packaging, I might suspect this would be full sized.
Too Faced Lipstick in Naked Dolly (Sample Size)
This looked like a good every day shade, Naked Dolly claims to be a pink-peach nude to suit all skintones – this is Too Faced most popular shade, which is normally for a good reason, so I though it was a safe bet to try out. These lipsticks are normally a whopping £28 full size, a definite try before you buy product for me!
OFRA Long Lasting Lipstick in Santa Monica
I had a long debate on which of the amazing shades that LMB had in from OFRA to choose, I decided to pink the one I was likely to wear most, rather than the one that is most different. OFRA is a brand which I had never heard of before seeing in the Love Me Beauty boutique. I’ve tried this quickly, and although I can’t comment on wear time – it reminds me of a matte version of Rimmel’s Apocolips – and smells very strongly of vanilla cake. These retail for $19.90 (roughly £13.50)
Talika Eye Therapy Patch
A brand which I hadn’t heard of until a few months ago when I received something from them in a My Little Box, I was most curious about this as it’s say’s it’s reusable. I’ve tried a product like this before from Anatomicals and I hated it – so took a gamble on this as I had 1 credit left and didn’t want to get one of the one credit choices that they had left (a lip liner I already own, or a black eyeliner – which I have too many of!) A pack of 6 of these are on Space NK for £42, I think there is a pair in here – which would make this worth £14!

This is a fantastic box / concept – to be able to choose what kinds of samples you want! All of the brands and items you picked are stellar. Talika is a high quality brand that specializes in eyelash care – I believe they’re a French company.
Yes I did some research into them in the last products I received from Talika! I do love this box, whilst the surprise element is nice – I much prefer picking products that I know I’m excited to try, it means as soon as they arrive I’ve already built up excitement about them – and want to try – rather putting them in a drawer and forgetting!
