Makeup Revolution: Iconic Pro 1 Palette

I’d not been checking Makeup Revolution for probably six weeks or so, which was a big mistake. I’ve been eyeing the Lorac Pro Palette for ages, annoyed at the fact that we can’t actually get in the UK, but beyhold, the queen of the dupes Makeup Revolution have handily created a much cheaper version of the much talked about palette, so I’m glad I didn’t actually get my hands on it in the end!

These pro palettes are more expensive that their Urban Decay Naked dupes the ‘Iconic’ line – those are priced at £4 for 13 shades the packaging on them looks great initially but scratches easily, and they come with a dofur applicator, everyones least favourite addition to a palette. The Iconic Pro line comes in a nicer matte black packaging (a bit similar to the NARS texture), with a big mirror and a double ended brush with 16 shadows in total – These are priced at £6.99.

Like the Lorac Pro palettes, these contain 2 rows, the top row containing 8 matte shades, and the bottom row containing 8 shimmer shades. On the most part they are neutral shades of browns, with a few coloured shades to compliment too.

Iconic Pro 1 Palette Swatches

Left To Right: Ghost, Luna (almost invisible!), Must, Engima, Fade, Drama, Afflicted, Pitch

Left To Right: Need, Dawn, Getter, Breathe, Too Grey, Stage, Addicted, Player

In the Iconic Pro 1 Palette the shades lean mostly on the warmer side, The stand out shades for  me are ‘Getter’ the gold shimmer shade, ‘Stage’ the Terracotta/Bronze shimmer, and Player which is another shimmer in a slate grey.

The shimmers are most pigmented and very buttery and easy to work with, the mattes are good for a budget palette, but require a little more blending, especially on the paler shades. Luna, Must and Enigma from the matte section are great shades for blending into the crease, or correcting where you have been a bit heavy handing, and whilst they look like ‘nothing’ shades, those shades are great for blending.

With all shadows I have a problem with them lasting, whether that’s Mac, Urban Decay, YSL or Makeup Revolution but with Urban Decay’s primer potion Makeup Revolution’s eyeshadows last as well as any other. I’ve been reaching for this palette all week and absolutely love it!

If you would like to see some makeup looks using this palette let me know!

I also picked up the Iconic Pro 2, which will be going up early next week! So hold your horses, if you’re thinking of ordering, I’d wait until you’ve seen both, as they’re quite similar, and you would probably just need one not two!

Please, if I say in the near future I’ve bought another palette, please tell me off.

When I placed my order I got some extra items which I’m doing a giveaway with – it’s ending soon so check this post out if you want to enter to win £25 of Makeup Revolution products!

I’ve been looking for a warm-neutral eyeshadow palette but didn’t want to splash out on a high-end one, this looks like a really good dupe. Jay x

It’s brilliant jay, since I’ve discovered the makeup revolution eye shadows I haven’t splurged on anything more expensive, they’ve done the same job for a fraction of the price! Xx

Would love to see how these look in a makeup look! I’ve wanted the Lorac Pro Palette since forever but didn’t want to pay the extortionate prices to get it to the UK, so I recon this would be a good alternative! Xx

Yes I keep using them in the morning and think damn I wish I had time to photograph this, but I’m always running 5 minutes late so can’t! Hoping to get some photos over the weekend 🙂 I was the same, we’ve been semi planning an American roadtrip and already had Lorac on my mental shopping list for if we did go! xx

Lovely! And yes, I can tell the shimmer shades swatch better than the mattes, that’s usually the case with drugstore brands. We don’t have access to this brand here in Canada but I wished we did – same with Sleek!

They do ship internationally at a not too terrible rate, especially if you have more than one item you have your eye on 😉
