Makeup Revolution Haul & Giveaway

I’d been planning a payday splurge on a few makeup revolution items, but how could I resist when for last week celebrating their first birthday by giving away £25 worth of products with every order when you spent £25 or more! I decided to do a giveaway with some of the items worth over £24 so flick to the end for those details!

The Haul

Iconic Pro 1 & Iconic Pro 2 Eyeshadow Palettes

Iconic 2 Palette

Little did I know that Makeup Revolution had released dupes for the Lorac Pro 1 & 2 palettes, both of which I have been eyeing up, especially the 1 for quite some time. I’m so impressed with their Urban Decay Naked dupes that I knew these would be the same reliable quality. I couldn’t resist trying one before I had chance to photograph – I wasn’t wrong – posts on these will be coming up. They also came with a brush, and whilst it’s not the best quality – it is actually surprisingly okay for a free brush!

Pro Hygiene Antibacterial Brush Cleaner

makeup-revolution-brush-cleanser

I wanted a quick spot cleaner for brushes in between “proper washes” as I’m not a big believer that for own personal use you need to wash them every time you use. My main bugbear is eyeshadow brushes becoming the same murky shade of brown! This is generous size bottle too!

Translucent Pressed Powder

Another product that I couldn’t resist trying before photographing. I haven’t been that big a fan of the Korres one I was using so decided to try this, it reminds me a lot of the Rimmel Stay Matte, and I already regret not getting more – as these are super cheap at £2, have a nifty swizzle opening with a sponge – and mirror on the back, perfect handbag material!

Nail Geek Clear Skies Nail Polish

make-up-revolution-clear-skies-nail-polish

A recurring theme, again I couldn’t wait – I’ve already posted a review Clear Skies by Makeup Revolution here, this was a bargain at £1.50, and is an utterly beautiful colour!

Amazing Lipstick – The One

make-up-revolution-the-one-lipstick

I saw a swatch of this on their Facebook page, and it looked stunning on the girl who was wearing it, this is your classic Kylie Jenner lip colour, which I never thought would suit me, but at only £1 I had to try. I was so wrong, this is beautiful, all other lip products (there was 8), have come out of my handbag and this has replaced them all. Super moisturising and glossy, a perfect not too pale nude.

Amazing Lipstick – Enchant

Yet to try but a nice looking easy to wear lilac pink shade! Hope it’s as good as the above!

Amazing Lipstick in Crime

makeup-revolution-crime-lipstick

This reminded me of MAC’s Candy Yum Yum, which I’ve wanted to try, but for how often I’ll wear to how much it costs, it’s not been worth it.

Vivid Blush Laquer in O’ Boy

make-up-revolution-vivid-blush-oh-boy

Looking forward to trying this out, a good every day colour

Liphug Lipstick in Present Has No Living

This is neon, bright neon – this is one of the free items I swapped out as I’m so curious as to how it wears!

Love Pink Amazing Care Lipstick

A clear transparent edge is supposed to moisturise and nourish the lips, not tried this yet, but intrigued to see how much colour payoff this gives!

Wow! Looks like an awesome haul. I’ve tried one of their eyeshadow palettes and I can’t believe how great it is for £4! Definitely would love to try more. X

    • April 6, 2015 / 8:41 am

They really are good, no eyeshadow lasts on me without a primer – but with these last as long as my ysl, urban decay or MAC! X

Such an awesome giveaway Rachael!!!! I’ve yet to try the Makeup Revolution product line but it looks fantastic & I’ve heard such wonderful things about it 🙂 Already following you on everything but just Tweeted/shared etc. Good luck to all entrants, what great prizes!! 😀 Karen xo

    • April 6, 2015 / 12:50 pm

Thanks Karen, it’s such a good line – I’ve loved everything I’ve had from there so far, apart from a mascara that was £2 so no big loss! Have had better from there and spent a lot less than other pharmacy or other designer brands x

I really must try and get up to the bigger stores in Belfast to see the full range as I’m sure I’d love it as much as you do!! It seems very similar to MUA which I use quite a lot off (funnily apart from their mascaras too lol) XXX

        • April 6, 2015 / 4:38 pm

I never really ventured into MUA properly – I picked up a couple of lipsticks, but that was about it – I never really intended to try this either in the view of “It’s so cheap it’ll never be that good” but I kept seeing review after review of “It’s so cheap and it really is that good” that I had to see it to believe it! Annoyingly we don’t have a counter around me (but probably a good thing) – but there’s a couple of bloggers and youtubers who I stay switched on to who keep me alerted of new releases! xxx

            April 6, 2015 / 4:55 pm

That was me too Rachael, the price point actually made me doubt the product as I kept thinking something supposedly this good could NOT be this cheap surely?!? lol I have to say I’ve been proven wrong!! Oh I have a few MUA counters around me and I’m telling you it’s a nightmare to restrain yourself from lifting so much stuff 😀 The only thing I find is that their lippy range isn’t very extensive in my local store, other than that it’s superb 🙂 That’s good to keep your eye on the game… I’ll be checking in with you then for latest releases to haha XX

          • April 6, 2015 / 5:26 pm

Hmm maybe I need to give MUA a second look again then! My only complaints with them is the packaging – I’d rather pay £1 more for example and have packaging which the writing can rub off/scratches easily – but really not complaining for the price, would just rather spend that little extra to have nothing to have a slight problem with! x

          • Karen Rees
            April 6, 2015 / 8:46 pm

You really should Rachael, they’re lovely. I have to say I’m really impressed with the eye shadow primer – although I have read mixed reviews. The liquid eye liner is great & the Heaven & Earth palette is lovely for everyday earthy toned shades… oh and the bronzer & blush are fab too!! As you can see I’ve tried quite a few lol 🙂
I completely get what you mean about the packaging though, I hate it when the writing rubs off – I find that happens all the time with the Collection products and it really irritates me *grrr* xxxx

  9. April 6, 2015 / 1:27 pm

Love make up revolution, haven’t tried alot of these items in your Giveaway! X

    • April 6, 2015 / 2:46 pm

Nope me neither, the only one I’ve tried before is the Mascara, but I thought that I may as well share some otherwise I would have nothing but Make up revolution posts for the next six months! £25 goes a long way with them! x

      • April 6, 2015 / 2:48 pm

        It really does! X

Wonderful giveaway! I have never tried Make-up Revolution before as it isn’t very accessible here but I have heard wonderful things about their products. 😊 I hope you had a lovely long weekend!

    • April 6, 2015 / 6:21 pm

Thank you Nadine! I don’t have one near me either so always have to order online – but is probably good that I don’t see more things to fall in love with in person! I think they might ship internationally at a not to extortionate rate! I have had a fab weekend eating wayyyy too much chocolate, but that is the perk of easter! Hope you’ve had a good weekend too lovely 🙂 xx

Especially when the make-up is so wonderfully affordable. It can become quite dangerous. 😁 I have that problem with Essence since it is widely available here and is lovely quality considering how affordable it is.
I think they do. I have never really considered make-up shopping online, to be honest.
Hahaha it sounds like the perfect weekend! 👌 I also couldn’t stop eating this weekend. I completely agree! It’s all part of the fun! 😁
        I did, thank you! 💖xx

These all look so nice! I’ve never tried Makeup Revolution, but am now tempted. Loved this xx

I love make up revolution! This haul has inspired me to get one of the eyeshadow pallets as I’m on the hunt for a new decent drugstore pallet 🙂 xx

  14. April 9, 2015 / 8:18 am

Ooo how exciting, I just entered, looks like a great giveaway! Jay x

  15. April 9, 2015 / 8:26 am

The items you picked up for yourself look great, I’ve seen and heard a lot about MUA so I’d love to get a chance to try them myself! <3
