Makeup Revolution – Clear Skies – Review & Swatch

Makeup Revolution – Clear Skies – Review & Swatch

I made 2 makeup revolution orders last week, and whilst there is a full sizeable haul coming – I’m waiting for the second part to arrive, I couldn’t resist trying this polish out in the meantime. If you’re a regular reader you will have noticed in my hauls where I’ve bought nail polish recently – and other reviews in general, I’ve been leaning to the blue spectrum, so I had to pop this in my basket when I was browsing the Makeup Revolution site as this was only £1.50.

Makeup Revolution Clear Skies is from their ‘I Love Makeup’ line, and is a periwinkle blue with a undertones of lilac hues, It reminds me of a paler and slightly bluer version of Suite Retreat by Essie which I posted swatches of the other day. I wasn’t expecting this to be such a generous size bottle for the price but at 12ml I am impressed for the price (OPI 15ml / China Glaze 14ml / Tanya Burr 12ml / Leighton Denny 12ml). The bottle for me is a little tacky, but I can’t really complain for the price.

This is almost opaque in one coat but is a little streaky in places, I did leave the house with only one coat when I first applied as I was in a rush before work – and wasn’t looking at my nails during the day thinking about how bad they looked.

A second coat leaves the finish nice and glossy which leaves me to be even more impressed, it’s pictured without a topcoat throughout this post. The polish also dries relatively quickly, I repainted with 2 coats in the evening and within 10 minutes they were perfectly dry. Whilst this wasn’t the best. I’d love to be able to tell you it has amazing longevity, but it’s a standard 3 days before chips appear – but for a budget brand, with no topcoat, I’m not complaining – and I’ve certainly had worse on ones where I have spent more.

I wouldn’t place an order solely for one nail polish from makeup revolution, as the postage would be higher than the polish itself, but I will certainly throw a few more in the basket in future as part of another order, or if I pass them in Superdrug I would have a look in store too, unfortunately there’s no make up revolution counter near me though!

Have you tried any nail polishes from Makeup Revolution that you can recommend? I’ll add them on my list for when I next place an order!

Lovely color. Good to know it is decent for a budget polish, might pick some up next time I order 🙂
