OPI Ink – Swatch & Review

OPI Ink – The nail polish that started my    obsession. It was my first OPI polish and what made me want to keep buying and trying new polishes from all different brands, and building a collection of polishes the size that rivals any nail salon.

OPI Ink is a stunning Navy Blue one way – with a Navy Purple shine the other. It catches the light beautifully despite being a dark shade. It’s a sophisticated colour but the hint of purple in some lights also adds a smidge of fun. It’s one of the polishes which I always get asked by friends and strangers asking me what nail polish I am wearing.

Pictured here without a topcoat, this is glossy, and long-wearing, I’d just finished 8 hours of hardcore gardening, planting, lawn mowing, patio laying – and there’s not a chip in sight! This polish is what put my faith in OPI as brand, and whilst I have come across a few duds from them in my time, they are few and far between – this is the quality I’ve generally come to expect from OPI.

I’ve looked in the drugstore to see if I can find a close dupe elsewhere but nothing I have seen is quite as beautiful as this, I’ve not found anything that has the same purple hue from alternate angles, or it’s not been quite as dark as this.

It’s not a polish which I wear often, because once I have got it on, I like to repaint my nails with this shade over and over – which doesn’t make for good blogging material, as I started this blog to force me to use and blog my way through my oversized nail polish collection!

OPI Ink is part of their permanent line and I hope it’s never going anywhere, if so I will be buying multiple backups. Already halfway through my second bottle – my only ever polish repurchase – except top coats.
