Cailyn Dizzolv’It Cleansing Balm Review

Cailyn Dizzolv’It Cleansing Balm Review

I picked this out as part of my March Love Me Beauty Box, I’ll hold my hands up, I Rachael, have never tried a cleansing balm – and I feel like the last person on earth who hasn’t yet tried one. So this is my very first one – the Cailyn Dizzolv’It Cleansing Balm.

This is a tester size tub at 25ml, and I thought this would last a long time, from how it looked in the pot when it initially came, I was expecting it to be quite hard or need warming up, the texture is a bit odd – but I can’t think what to describe it too, but it’s lighter in consistency than I thought it would be.

This small pot is handy, it comes with an extra in between lid, which is handy for the shower as it stops water getting in, and also should stop it for leaking for travel – I don’t know if the same thing applies to the bigger pot, but I would hope that it would.

I do find I need quite a lot of this product, it melts down very quickly, so when you have a slightly wet or damp face it tends to run off quite quickly. I like my cleansers to be an all in one, I don’t want to have loads of skincare products in the shower, and nor do I like to have to use a micellar water to get rid of any last traces. Unfortunately this does an okay job of removing make up, but around the very edges of the eyes I’m usually left with black traces of mascara or eyeliner. Something which annoys me greatly with cleansers is when they claim to melt or sweep away makeup and don’t, this has the claim of ‘makeup melt cleansing balm’ and it just doesn’t fully do it!

This isn’t the worst cleanser that I have used, but it’s not the best either. This isn’t cheap at $36 per 100ml (around £25), I think if this was the sole cleanser that I was using I would be finished going through this pot in about a week – which would mean £25 on cleanser in a month, and I’ve found things which I prefer and last longer.

Ultimately, yes I will use the Cailyn Dizzolv’It Cleansing Balm up – alongside my Elemis sensitive cleansing wash which I reviewed last week, but it’s not perfect enough to repurchase.

Try putting it on with a dry face, rub it in well and then remove with a warm face cloth? Should help with how much product you are using and how effective it is! Chloe x

I have tried that since and it still does the same, it’s so weird it just runs off straight away like water, before I have chance to massage it in! Just a bad balm I think!
