Face Mask Friday #2: Organic Surge Deep Cleansing Mask Review

The most recent to my face mask collection, I picked up Organic Surge’s Deep Cleansing Mask in the March Love Me Beauty. I’ve had a few products from Organic Surge in the past which I’ve liked, but have recently finished a cleanser which I thought was terrible. I was interested to see which way this swang.

Reading the product blurb, this is suitable for sensitive skin, claiming to make skin brighter and revive dull or blemish prone skin. The essential oils inside are designed to purify and soothe. I’ve been suffering with small blemishes and blackheads recently – so this mask ticked a lot of boxes.

Similarly to the cleanser I’ve tried the deep cleansing mask is made with pure rosemary and lemon essential oils. It’s not a scent which I loved from first sniff, rosemary is a very foody scent to me – but I’ve become more accustomed to it through use of the cleanser, now it smells familiar rather than strange.

On first squeeze this seemed very thick in consistency, thinking that I would need quite a bit of this mini sized tube to cover my face, a little went a long way and 2 pea sized amounts were sufficient. It still felt thick when it first went on, but after a few minutes the heat from my skin made this melt and start to feel like it was sinking into my skin – which I liked, it felt like my skin was absorbing it, and it at least felt like it was doing something. After leaving on for 10-15 minutes you rinse off.

Although it’s not mentioned as an effect, my skin felt smoother and more hydrated straight away, I didn’t notice that my skin was looking particularly brighter instantly – the next morning I did think my complexion looked better and the little bit of hyperpigmentation I have on my cheeks was a little reduced.

I’ve used this several times since receiving, and I have been impressed with it so far, I can see signs that my skin is improving, but that may not be single handedly down to this, as I’ve been using a new cleanser from Elemis also.

This £8.50 for 50ml, and I think this 30ml sample will last me a long time – and therefore this is really well priced. I would recommend giving this a go if you’re into face masks, and want something at the more affordable end of the market.
