Perfume Collection Part 1

This post has taken quite a while to write. I have quite a big oversized perfume collection that has been made up over several years, the hoarder in me can’t bear to use them up. I’ve been wearing each of them for 4-5 days to really associate myself with the perfume as I chop and change so often usually.

My collection has got to the point where they take up such a large portion of my dressing table top and look a bit messy too, so I’ve been trying to compact my collection to 5-10 that I do actually reach for regularly as fifteen is too many!

I’m not even going to bother cover that bowl, that’s all samples from years of Glossyboxes! Good for 1 night travelling which is when I tend to use them.

I’ve split my post into two parts, as otherwise this would have been a long long post.

Marc Jacobs Perfume Collection

I love the Marc Jacobs fragrances, but I have since discovered that I am allergic to them and my skin goes rashy when I wear. so have to wear now in-directly on clothes while I’m using them up. I would have a much larger MJ Collection if it wasn’t for this!

Daisy – You’ll notice that this bottle is actually empty (you’ll see it in my empties in a few days), but it’s been apart of my perfume collection for 4-5 years so did want to include it.  For a perfume called Daisy I don’t personally find this all that floral, to me it reminds me of floral Chanel Chance.

Daisy Eau So Fresh – I prefer this over the original personally, it’s a lighter than the original and is a better day to day fragrance than Daisy which I tend to reach for more on evenings.

Lola – Okay I’ll admit it, most of the reason I wanted this perfume was for the bottle, I’m not as keen on this compared to the two daisy scents. I find this perfume hard to describe, it’s semi  sweet but has a bit of a bite to it too, some of the notes listed are Peony, pink pepper, pear & ruby red grapefruit..

‘Luxury Brand’ Perfume Collection

Tom Ford Black Orchid – Received from my boyfriend at Christmas this has been on my wishlist for a few years ago. This is my perfume for special occasions, it has a lot going on and smells with top notes of French jasmine, black truffle, ylang-ylang, black currant and effervescent citrus. Whilst the base combines woodsy notes (patchouli and sandalwood), dark chocolate, incense, amber, vetiver, vanilla and balsam. Despite all the ‘dark’ scents the vanilla, balsam and floral notes help lift it to smell oh so good.

Dior Fahrenheit Summer – I think this was limited edition, and I got this when my sister did work experience (about 7 years ago!), yes this does still smell the same, Features notes of violet, citrus, sandal wood, freesia, patchouli, cedar and amber. Not something I reach for very often as sometimes it smells a little manly.

Chanel Chance – It’s funny I loved this perfume when I was a teenager, when I was trying to be like my mum but now I’m not as in love with it. This is my second bottle – kindly given to me by my sister who got it when she worked at boots – This has fruity top notes, floral heart notes and a musky base. It is a much more sophisticated perfume with all the different core bases making it smell more ‘complex’.

MIchael Kors Very Hollywood Collection

Can you tell what my favourite perfume is? I don’t think it’s it’s normal to have 3 bottles of the same perfume, but there is a good reason for it. I have this in 30, 50 and 100ml. I’d been coming to the end of my 50ml bottle, and could only find a 30ml bottle – so though it had been discontinued, I then saw a 100ml bottle a few weeks later in TK Maxx so picked it up not wanting to run out of my favourite! This is a sweet floral fragrance with notes of mandarin, frozen bergamot, moist jasmine, raspberry, ylang ylang, gardenia, iris root, creamy amber, white moss and vetiver.

I keep the 30ml for holidays/travel and 100ml for everyday, and just can’t bare to part with the almost finished 50ml as they look so nice lined up together!

What are your favourite perfumes and fragrances?
