I recently posted about a magazine freebie in Elle magazine (here), the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara has just launched. I’m not a big fan of Benefit in general, their one product I loved they discontinued (RIP She Laq – forever in my heart), and there’s often better elsewhere in my opinion. But never the less I do like to try out new things, so when things pop up in magazines I do often like to give them a go and a review.
The roller lash mascara isn’t actually available until 23rd Feb in stores, and is exclusively only available in ELLE, so if you want to try it, this is currently the only way. Youtubers and Bloggers seem to have got full sizes of this early – so it would seem that they’re trying to create hype around the product, and make people love (and have used up their sample sizes) before it launches so the rush to buy it will be on!
Roller Lash has been in development for 4 years, designed for people with shorter lashes who struggle to hold a curl. This claims to get rid of the need for your lash curlers and give supreme length. Now I’m not exactly the target market for this product, I have naturally quite long curled lashes, so I generally prefer a volumising mascara to give me enough length as well as volume.
The brush on this is rubber in a curved shape with tiny short rubber bristles (again I’m someone who prefers normal bristles – so we’re getting on real well so far!). The brush reminds me a lot of the They’re Real mascara from benefit, just a slightly different shape.
I was impressed with the results that this gave, I don’t think it curled my lashes any more than usual – but it did give decent length. Because the brush is so small, and my lashes are long, I found that I had to apply my mascara with a lot more precision than I would normally, but if you’re in the target market for this – you’ll probably find this brush a lot easier.
I was impressed with the length this gave – but I don’t think I will be purchasing the full size, if it added a bit of volume as well as being this lengthening I would love it, but for me it made my eyelashes look a bit too spidery. But if you’re a sufferer of short lash syndrome – I think this could be a great saviour for you

I was fairly lazy on getting out of my pyjamas (it was a Sunday & My Birthday so I have a valid excuse), so didn’t put on my make up until around 12.30pm, so whilst not a full days test, I did take a picture at 11.30 as to how it had held up.

There’s a little transfer under the eyes – might have just been the napping – but otherwise the length has held up pretty well!
It doesn’t remove very easily, slightly easier to remove than they’re real – but a micellar water couldn’t get my lashes clean and back to normal, and doesn’t come of very easily with cleanser either.
If you aren’t sure I would recommend picking this up with the latest ELLE magazine to give it a try before you buy, especially if you aren’t the target user like me. If you prefer volume, don’t bother with this mascara, it’s not the right one for you.
