You’ll notice that I was already failed at Blogmas having skipped day 2, I’ve had a really busy week at work in a new role, and lunch hours and getting home on time have so far been scarce with a big deadline for next week looming!
Needless to say – that I didn’t have a recipe prepared for day 2 : ‘Share a festive recipe!’, it’s a bit too early for me to have started my Christmas baking, but there’s a few posts the same later down the line, so I’ll hopefully be more prepared for those!
I kind of covered this question about favourite Christmas Movies in my Christmas Tag, where I named my favourite Christmas Movies as Elf and a Muppets Christmas Carol, so I thought that I would share a few others which I love as well.
I watch this to put me in the Christmas spirit, as well as when I’m wrapping my Christmas presents. In the UK, until last year when Sky spoilt it by buying the rights there would be a mass Elf watching where pretty much the whole country would watch it at the same time, and your Facebook would be filled with the same quotes! At work we’ve just had a Christmas Dec off, and was inspired by the decorations he creates in the department store, welcome to 1 month of walking into snowflakes at work:
Muppets Christmas Carol
The film from my Childhood, me and my sister watched this every few days as Children during December, it has the BEST songs, no arguments it does.
Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year
Now the VHS we had as a child of Winnie the Pooh at Christmas simply doesn’t exist as a DVD 😦 – my boyfriend bought me this last year for Christmas to soften the blow (and to try to get me to stop searching for it in every spare moment of my time!), and it’s a good close second – as it contains part of story that was on the other. But if disney kindly want to release Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too – on DVD I will add to my collection.
I love watching this really close to Christmas whilst snuggling up in my bed, my parents HATE this film, so I always had to sneak off to my bedroom to watch – this is usually on TV on Christmas Eve, and it’s the perfect film to watch to reassure your Christmas spirit before the big day.
I know a lot of people will name Jude Law and Jack Black as their reasons for liking this film, but Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet are two of my favourite actresses. A real girly girly love story, all wrapped up in Christmas that give warm and fuzzy feelings.
