Ahh the world of retail, the world where everything comes a little earlier than the rest of the world would like it to. This week we’ve properly launched Christmas at work, which has put a little ounze of Christmas spirit in me earlier than usual. I picked up this polish 2 weeks ago and wasn’t planning on cracking it out a few weeks before Christmas, but alas my christmas feel has started properly due to John Lewis.
Welcome the new No7 Nail effects range (currently only 2 shades as far as I could see in store) this is called Snow Wash. This could have been made far more Christmassy with a red or green backdrop, I didn’t opt for the polar opposite, but a dark charcoal grey, called Thunderstorm, also from No7, which makes it look like “snow storm at night”, quote from the boyfriend. Which it really does.
If there’s one time of year which is destined for nail art it’s Christmas, And if like me you haven’t got the patience – or haven’t got the hand – this couldn’t make it easier to create a proper festive look with no effort at all.
This polish reminds me a lot of the l’oreal confetti topcoats, and as a regular mentioner of the fact I love white glitter, I can see me getting a lot of use out of this all year around, this would look lovely over brights in the summer.
Here it’s pictured with one coat of the glitter and finished with a coat of seche vite to make it super shiny, but was relatively good without. I’m not normally a massive fan of the No7 line especially their nail polishes, thinking it’s normally overpriced for what it is, but I do really love this topcoat, and the Thunderstorm shade is my favorite from their line that I own, my friend (a professional nail tech), complimented me on how good they looked at the weekend, so they’ve had the professional seal of approval.
Snow Wash is available on Boots online here (no longer available), I can imagine the closer we get to Christmas the more difficult it will be to find, so if you’re interested grab it while you can.
NO7 is currently on 3 for 2 also!
