I’ve seen this floating around a few times, and thought it would be nice if I started fitting in the more ‘get to know me’ style things. So here’s a fun tag to start things off!
1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do
I forget to use a face mask, I got into a really good routine over a year ago before we bought our house and before we moved back in with parents with doing it about a week. Then moving in with in-laws made me feel a bit awkward walking around the house with a face mask on, but I haven’t really got into the routine of doing it again since buying my own house. I love the ones I have as well and I know how much better my skin will be for it, I have good intentions to do it in the day but I’m perpetually forgetful!
2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
Once a month? It’s the drying time that stops me doing it, usually if I do it mid-week I they won’t be dry to use the next day. But I’ve collected such a stash, especially of eye brushes that I can switch between them and could probably last 2 weeks of using a different brush each day before I would run out of clean ones. I don’t personally think it’s that important when it’s personal, I use the same blush most days, I’ve just showered so my face is clean, what’s the problem if I use it again?
3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
Until I can get home and take it off! It’s my pet peeve, I don’t care about it on other people, but can’t deal with it on myself! I’d rather take my polish off and not have time to repaint then see chipped nails. It bothers me greatly!
4. How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product, even if you need it?
Not very long – the product I’m worst for not repurchasing is topcoat, I will strategically plan wearing polishes which I know are glossy without!
5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Ooh – I don’t know, I used to be bad habit for squeezing spots, but I don’t seem to get them as bad as I used to, they come and go pretty quickly and are few and far between. I’m not good at remembering to do my eyebrows, I have a fringe so it’s mostly hidden, but sometimes I catch a glimpse of my eyebrows when I’m washing my hands or something and wonder what the hell happened!
6. Name something non beauty related that you put off doing all the time:
Washing my car… actually who are we kidding, getting the car washed!
7. When going out somewhere do you leave getting ready to the last minute?
Not if I can help it, as it usually stresses me out, if it’s for work, I don’t particularly care if I’ve not had time to put foundation on. But if I was going out for a meal or to an event of some kind, I like to leave myself a little over an hour to calmly get ready, usually binge watching the SacconeJolys at the same time. I can if needs be ready in 10, any less and I’d probably finish off in the car!
8. Can you commit to spending bans?
I think I could but I’ve never tried, I have stopped my flippancy of purchasing as much as I used to. I now think if there’s anything similar in my collection and if it will ‘fill a gap’, as much as I could and would if given the chance love to have a ‘classic red’ by every brand – what’s the point, especially as it’s not a colour I particular gravitate towards! This goes for both nail polish and makeup. I’ve been good recently with using up stashes in my makeup in order to downsize, and then justify buying what I really like at the end of it, recently I’ve used up all my mascaras that I have laying around, and I can now use the Lancome Hypnose Drama, which is my absolute favourite which I have been saving until I’d used all of them!
9. How organised is your makeup and nail polish collection?
My surprise custom made rack by my boyfriend which I came home to find he had arranged my polishes on – and also matches the makeup storage at the side 🙂
My makeup is well organised, I have a set of 3 drawers with 6 individual drawers inside, they’re starting to fall apart and I’m on the lookout for something nicer now. My nail polish was organised in a nail polish rack that my boyfriend built and customised for me, unfortunately I’ve thoroughly outgrown it, so since we’ve moved they’re all in a big box while I work out what to do! I like the practicality look of the classic Ikea Alex drawers, I think I could get all my nail polish and makeup in. But it looks like a piece of office furniture to me, and it will sit in my spare room with pretty oak furniture, and I’m trying to think of a way I can customise it so it’s a bit nicer, so any ideas let me know!
10. What is the longest time you have gone without writing a blog post?
Publishing, probably 3 weeks, writing maybe a week. I have 30 ish reviews of polishes written up ready to go, but they need photos. When I get home from work and the best of the natural daylight is gone, it makes it difficult to get that part done. I think it’s easier if you’re writing about fashion as if the lighting is a big off, but when I’m getting down to the nitty gritty of a specific polish the photography really needs to be right. I need to find my proper SLR camera soon to get onto taking better pictures again, as the iPhone just isn’t cutting it for me!

It is! I just wish it was 3 times the size now so I could fit everything on and have growing room! Might give him a project one weekend!
