Beauty Bits Haul – Sally's, & Other Stories and Muji

Last Friday I went to an event in London (which you can read about here, it had the goodie bag of all goodie bags!) and went for a quick wander before heading back on the train. I also popped into Sally’s as I had a hospital appointment and had about 50 minutes after getting back off the train before I needed to be at the hospital and had some bits I needed to stock up on!

& Other Stories

& Other Stories Punk Bouquet Body Wash

After I’d been to the Beauty Bay event last Friday I had a time for a few little pit stops before I needed to go to my train. First off I popped into & Other Stories (A sister brand to H&M, which is more premium), I’ve been in a few times before but never bought anything whilst I have admired all their own brand beauty products. One whiff of the Punk Bouquet range and I knew I needed something, If they’d had a perfume I’d probably have got it! It’s described as a frothy vanilla soda on a bed of rose petals – I’m not a fan of vanilla scents and it doesn’t smell like vanilla at all to me. Will definitely be ordering some more bits from & Other Stories once I’ve depleted my body scrub stash as they had some gorgeous scents available.

Muji

Muji Light Toning Water

After Stashy has mentioned Muji skincare so much lately, I’ve checked out our online selection for their beauty items and been left disappointed that Muji sell none of their beauty line online in the UK. I wasn’t sure whether they stocked it at all so walking by the store on Oxford Street I decided to quickly see what they had. They had a much smaller curated selection than I know what’s available in Canada, and I presume other countries – and opted for a mini of their Light Toning Water. As my bag was getting real heavy and I didn’t want to carry anything else!

Sally’s

I popped into Sally’s to pick up some bits for doing at home Gel’s but of course naturally had to check out every aspect of the nails aisle and walked away with a few extras!

Morgan Taylor Lust Worthy

I’ve only tried 1 polish from Morgan Taylor in the past and I had terrible luck with it – I know some people really love this formula and brand so when I spotted a few on sale reduced from £11 down to £3.71 (very specific!) I decided it was worth a punt on a few more shades. When I was in the store I couldn’t think of another shade I had like Lustworthy. It’s a dark greyish navy with almost purple undertones, since I’ve got it home it actually really reminds me of OPI Miss You-niverse which I picked up a few months ago and have still been yet to try.

Morgan Taylor B Girl Style

There was a super bright neon that caught my eye but after deciding I already had loads of other shades like it I opted for B Girl Style which came from this year’s summer collection. It’s a more pastelly lilac toned pink neon with a subtle blue pearl finish which I don’t think (she says…) I have anything similar to.

Morgan Taylor Royal Treatment

I’m a sucker for these kind of royal purples and I like that this almost has a pinkier undertone to it rather than being more blue. It’s not the most unique colour but actually I don’t think I have another shade like it – I know I had one in the past but I think I got rid of it as it peeled!

300 Grit Buffing Blocks

I needed some more coarser buffing blocks for doing Mums nails and these were nice and cheap at about 60p for 2. Only bought a few to try them out, but already going back for more after I’ve already tried them on her this weekend!

Dappen Dishsallys-dappen-dish

A little pot for glitters or soaking decals in, I’ve started doing my mums nails with gel for her and I thought this would be a handy little thing to have on hand for if I end up cracking out my nail art stuff at any point!

Salon Services Acetoneacetone-sallys-beauty-supply

I asked my professional bestie which her favourite Acetone to use to remove gel polish was and she said this was by far her best. I was surprised at just how cheap these were, this giant bottle (and they did do one bigger!) was about £4. Should last me a good while.

I like the style of the Punk Bouquet Body Wash. It looks simple and yet kind of classy. 😊

I’m sad your MUJI skincare selection is so dismal. 🙁 I hope you’ll like the Light Moisture version.
I’m planning a visit to Sally’s this weekend! I haven’t been in ages and need to stock up on nail stuff especially my Blue Cross cuticle remover. Those Morgan Taylor polishes look great!

Atleast something was better than the nothing I was expecting – I haven’t tried it yet, it’s been abandoned on my sideboard downstairs as I haven’t been home very early this week. I’ll pack it for a night away from home tomorrow to test it out!
I’ve not been to Sally’s for ages either, but it is basically now just OPI and Morgan Taylor, plus a Tigi Haircare (always cheaper online) and a bucket load of hair dye. It’s not as interesting here as it used to be 🙁
Fingers crossed the Morgan Taylor polishes are better than my last one, as that one was an utter fail.
